Everyone Active Westcroft Leisure Centre is on Westcroft Road in Carshalton. It holds a 4.1 rating from 19 Google reviews. Nineteen is a small sample and I'd treat the average loosely, but one review here does more work than most gym pages manage in a thousand words.
You Don't Need A Membership
A member spelled out the whole offer: "A great place to stay fit and healthy. You don't need to be a member and prices are very reasonable. There is a really good gym, swimming (2 pools), 5 a side, badminton, table tennis, squash, loads of keep fit classes every day, and much much more. There is a large free car park."
Read that list again. Two pools. Squash, which the leisure centre a few miles up the road in St Ives has dropped. Five-a-side, badminton, table tennis. Daily classes. And a large free car park, which in this part of south London is not a small detail.
The line I'd underline is the first one: you don't need to be a member. Pay-and-play changes who this place is for. If you swim once a fortnight and play badminton when a friend is free, a contract gym is money burned. This isn't that.
The Equipment Is The Weak Spot
Two members put a dent in the picture, and they're consistent with each other.
A three-star: "Great atmosphere in gym but dated equipment." A two-star: "Lovely gym but very expensive 1 lift that constantly breaks down."
Dated equipment from one, an unreliable lift from the other. Note that both still call the place great or lovely. Neither is condemning it; they're telling you where it falls short.
The lift matters more than it sounds. If you have a pram, a wheelchair or dodgy knees, one lift that "constantly breaks down" isn't a minor gripe, it's an access problem. That's worth a phone call before you plan around it.
Is It Expensive Or Reasonable?
Both, apparently. One member says "prices are very reasonable," another says "very expensive."
They may be talking about different things. Pay-and-play swimming and a full gym membership are different products at the same address. Whichever you want, get the specific price for that specific thing rather than trusting either review, mine included.
Swimming And Children
A parent writes that their daughter "loves westcroft centre, good teacher so she learning swimming very interesting," and calls it the best place for kids' swimming. With two pools on site, lessons and general swimming can run at the same time, which is usually why centres like this work for families.
Another member praises the cleaning: "very clean and impeccably tidy."
Hours and Contact
No opening hours or phone number appear in the Google listing. Everyone Active is a national operator and runs its centre pages at everyoneactive.com, which carries timetables and current prices.
