Center for Balance - Gym in Cincinnati, United States

Cincinnati, United States

Center for Balance isn't a gym - Google categorizes it as a physiotherapy practice and medical clinic - and every one of its five written reviews describes vestibular and balance rehabilitation for a specific medical condition: vertigo, fall risk, or a neurological disorder, not general fitness.

A 57 Percent Increase, Measured, Not Estimated

Lisa McKenzie's review carries unusual weight because of both her background and her evidence: "I've gotten a greater payoff from my nine sessions here than I have gotten from any of the many costly interventions I have tried in the thirty plus years I've had multiple sclerosis. I've gone through seven costly MS medications, the Cionic Sleeve, the Bioness device. None of these resources proved even a fraction as effective." She backs the claim with a specific, tracked number: "Since starting therapy, my Apple Watch has tracked a 57% increase in the number of steps I take each day." That's a genuinely rare thing in a review - a quantified, device-tracked outcome rather than a subjective impression, from someone with three decades of prior treatment history to compare it against.

Insurance Interrupted Treatment, Not the Clinic

Jeanne Weaver Dano's review describes real progress derailed by something outside the clinic's control: "I went three times a week. I had to stop therapy despite visible improvement due to insurance, not me. The vertigo came back. A call to my doctor and a call to them, I was right back in." That's worth reading carefully as a specific, checkable pattern: insurance authorization limits interrupting an effective treatment plan, with the clinic and her doctor working together to get her back into care once that was resolved. She reports full resolution afterward: "I have 'graduated,' no more vertigo, and I am no longer a fall risk. My cane was relegated to the back of my closet."

A Husband's Recovery After a Hip Fracture

Barbara Bradley's review describes her husband's path here after a serious fall: "He was having therapy from a company because he had fallen (because of dizziness), where he had broken his hip. The lady in charge of that therapy gave me the name of The Center for Balance." That's a specific referral chain worth noting - another therapy provider recommending this clinic by name for a case their own program wasn't fully addressing. She adds that ongoing back problems were worked around rather than treated as a barrier to progress.

What "Vertigo Fixed" Actually Involved

Patsy Epifano's review is emphatic but non-specific about method: "THEY FIXED MY VERTIGO! After a few weeks of horrible vertigo which made my life horrible, the wonderful folks at The Center for Balance have restored my life!" Combined with Jeanne's account of a thorough evaluation, explained findings, a specific plan of action, and home exercises between visits, the pattern across reviews suggests a structured, multi-week evaluation-and-exercise protocol rather than a single treatment.

What's Missing

No review states session pricing, and Jeanne's account specifically shows insurance coverage and authorization playing a real role in access - worth confirming your own coverage details directly before assuming a flat rate. Nothing describes the clinic space itself.

Who It's Not For

Anyone looking for a general gym or fitness class - this is a specialized medical practice treating vertigo, fall risk, and balance disorders, not a fitness facility. Anyone whose insurance situation is uncertain, given one reviewer's account of coverage directly interrupting her treatment progress.

I was referred to the Center for Balance by my doctor for my vertigo that kept returning. I was also identified with high risk for falling. I stumbled around like an old lady with my cane. I may be 74 but I am NOT old . They did a thorough evaluation. Explained their findings and gave me a detailed description of what the goals would be and our plan of action. They even gave me exercises to work on to help at home to help speed up the process in-between visits. I went three times a week. I had to stop therapy despite visible improvement due to insurance not me, The vertigo came back. A call to my doctor and a call to them, I was right back in. I have "graduated", no more vertigo and and I am no longer a fall risk. My cane was relegated to the back of my closet. Kind, patient, and thorough can't even begin to describe how wonderful they were. I can garden again, go on walks/short hikes, go to the zoo and have no fear of falling or getting dizzy. They suggested I continue my strength training and balance using Therabands. I use them and I just keep getting better. Thank you to this wonderful team. They are amazing. They gave me my life back.

My husband was having so much trouble with being able to walk or bend over that he said his life was miserable. He was having therapy from a company because he had fallen (because of dizziness) where he had broken his hip. The lady that was in charge of that therapy gave me the name of The center for dizziness and balance! The best thing we ever did was call them. They have helped him so much! They took their time with him and listened to everything he said and have him doing so much better. He still has a back problem but they worked around that and have him moving again. They took care of his vertigo as well for him! Thank you to all the workers in there! William and Barbara Bradley

I've gotten a greater payoff from my nine sessions here than I have gotten from any of the many costly interventions I have tried in the thirty plus years I've had multiple sclerosis (MS). I've gone through seven costly MS medications, the Cionic Sleeve, the Bioness device. None of these resources proved even a fraction as effective as these folks in helping me retrieve my mobility. Don't just take my word for it: since starting therapy, my Apple Watch has tracked a 57% increase in the number of steps I take each day. Before I found The Center for Balance and Dizziness, I wasted so much time and effort trying to balance on one leg or walk heel to toe. It's kind of amazing how quickly this place pinpointed exactly what simple exercises I would need to fix the complex neurological defects I could not overcome on my own. Their drills seemed laughably easy, but have made all the different in the world. I now find I can keep up with my classmates at yoga and can walk heel to toe just as far as I care to go. If you are like me, and you've been frustrated in a never ending quest to patch up your broken neurological pathways, come here to get the tools you need to make that dream a reality.
