We decided to stay at the Seagoe for our anniversary and are extremely pleased. The staff left us a plate with treats that wrote Happy Anniversary, and this little detail made the stay so much more special for us. We decided to use the superior suite, and it is genuinely such a nice and spacious room. The atmosphere in this hotel is amazing, and the staff are nice and accommodating. Would recommend this to everyone and will definitely be back again.

I have only used the hotel socially for coffee and for one Rotary event. This is a well appointed, well laid out hotel clearly catering for weddings and corporate events as it's main earner. For a casual coffee and catch-up the coffee area as you enter the hotel on the right is inviting and service first class. The usual array of tray bakes, scones and croissant are available. The downside of this hotel is the amount of parking. It only takes a large corporate event to fill the car park to capacity. Can't vouch for the culinary standard of the dining room, but the overall ambience, facilities and staff friendliness and efficiency are appealing.

Lovely hotel. Great food. Rooms delightful. Helpful friendly staff. The only negative....if they are running a bottomless lunch event....the bar is almost fully booked....very difficult to get seated in the upstairs bar...if you want to watch sport....the upstairs bar is the only place they have TVs.....I had to go into Portadown to see the last Ireland 6 nations game....make your own mind up as to whether you think this is fair or adequate....but great hotel otherwise.

Worst Hotel Experience Ever (Seagoe Hotel) I honestly cannot believe the treatment I received at Seagoe Hotel. This was by far one of the most horrible and stressful experiences I have ever had in any hotel, and I will never return, not even for a free night stay. I was attending a wedding and unfortunately the wrong date was booked(by the hotel), which can happen, but the way the situation was handled was absolutely disgusting. Instead of showing understanding or trying to help, the manager Surenda was rude, dismissive, arrogant and threatening, with absolutely zero empathy or customer service skills. I was there with a baby, clearly distressed, and rather than helping in any way, he told me to basically go and look for somewhere else to sleep, saying he was not going to help me. Imagine being told that while holding a baby, late at night, in an unfamiliar area. Completely heartless. What made it even worse is that the situation escalated so badly that the police were called to resolve the matter — all because the manager refused to take any ownership or handle the situation like a professional adult. I was even threatened to be kicked off the premises, despite being there for a wedding event. It was humiliating and unacceptable. To make matters worse, the next morning the restaurant experience was just as bad. The restaurant staff refused to serve me breakfast, even though I arrived 15 minutes before breakfast finished. I was spoken to like I was an inconvenience and told to just “go get the buffet” because I was “late.” The buffet was cold as ice, completely unappetising, and clearly left sitting. What shocked me most was that Caucasian guests arrived around 11:00 and were still given breakfast cards and allowed to order with no issues or questions, while I was treated like I didn’t matter. Absolutely unbelievable and extremely uncomfortable. The only positive thing I can say is that the two girls at reception were kind, understanding and professional, and they deserve credit. But unfortunately, they are not the ones running the place. This hotel is a disgrace when it comes to customer service. If you value respect, fairness, professionalism, or basic human decency — stay away from Seagoe Hotel. Horrible, horrible service. Never again.

I recently visited Seagoe Hotel, and while parts of my experience were acceptable on the surface, what I witnessed behind the scenes was deeply unsettling. First, I want to acknowledge that the reception staff were genuinely welcoming, professional, and did their best under what appeared to be very difficult conditions. The accommodation itself was also acceptable. However, none of that can outweigh what I observed in terms of how staff are treated by management. During my stay, I witnessed a member of staff request a break—something entirely reasonable—only to be refused because there was no one available to cover. What followed was even more disturbing: the same staff member then asked to use the toilet and was also denied. Denied a basic human need. A basic human right. I then overheard a manager justify this by saying, in essence, that “this is a business” and staff cannot take breaks when they need them—whether for meals, religious prayers, or even to use the toilet. I was genuinely shocked. This wasn’t just poor management; it felt like a complete lack of humanity and compassion. It’s incredibly uncomfortable as a guest to feel like your stay is being supported by the exhaustion and distress of staff. Many of the employees appeared mentally drained, yet continued working hard and maintaining professionalism despite the conditions. It gave the strong impression that their wellbeing is not a priority at all. The most heartbreaking moment was seeing the expression on that staff member’s face—helpless, embarrassed, and clearly distressed—after being refused something so basic. That image has stayed with me. Although I didn’t personally book or pay for this stay, I can confidently say I would never choose to stay here myself. More importantly, I would actively discourage others from booking. No guest experience is worth supporting an environment where staff are treated in such a way. To the staff: you deserve better. I sincerely hope these issues are raised and addressed properly, because no workplace should operate like this
