Meridian Spa & Fitness Alstertal

I’ve had a very positive experience here since joining last year. The yoga classes are great, staff are friendly and there is a nice and large wellness area. The current FKK debate is amusing. Nudity is still required in the saunas and jacuzzis which is in keeping with the typical German spa culture - but you will no longer be able to walk around or lay by the pool with everything hanging out, or swim in the pool naked. I accept it’s part of the German culture to be naked in the sauna, and appreciate it’s more hygienic. Indeed I have gone into the nude sauna at the Meridian several times despite coming from a culture where we are typically classed as prude and where nudity is actually illegal, because I’m willing to adapt to the culture I’m living in. However FKK is not embraced by the majority of people and the level of it here was bordering on uncomfortable. These people may claim to be 95% of members but this simply isn’t true. If they choose to go elsewhere then so be it; for me personally this decision makes me like the Meridian even more and the way they’ve dealt with the somewhat disrespectful criticism from some members (as per the PDF on their website) is commendable.
