Great location, service , amazing breakfast. Yes the rooms are compact however they still feel luxury. Check in and Portering amazing. Less than 10mins walk to London Eye .Such a central location.Got the train from Gatwick to Victoria and walked to the Hotel while embracing the buildings and views. They don't offer evening meals however that suited us as we wanted to experienced local restaurants
Exceptional service and a perfect first experience at a RIU property. From the moment we arrived, the staff at RIU Westminster went above and beyond. We were graciously upgraded, and when early check-in wasn’t available at another RIU London Palace location, they even arranged and paid for our cab to Westminster—class act. Romero was the best, give this man a raise. What really stood out was the personal touch: after returning from Paris, they remembered us and welcomed us back warmly. We stayed 7 nights and couldn’t have picked a better location. Everything was walkable—Big Ben (Elizabeth Tower), Westminster Abbey, the London Eye, and more. Comfortable rooms, outstanding service, and an unbeatable location. This stay set the bar very high for RIU hotels. Highly recommend!
Hotel is in a great location. Grounds were nice. The room was much smaller than expected but okay. The staff was mainly friendly but ran into issues when I called front desk for small wash cloths. For some reason I had to call 3 times and the final time I was in the lobby and mentioned to someone and that’s when housekeeping brought it to the room. At one point during the 2nd night of the stay I wanted to order a cocktail and I was told the restaurant was closed and the bar was moved to the lobby floor which I thought was strange. For a hotel of this caliber and in that area I wouldn’t think a restaurant wouldn’t be available. I believe they mentioned it was due to a type of change in restaurant management. All in all I would rate this as a pretty good stay.
We stayed at the Hotel Riu Plaza London The Westminster shortly after the hotel was taken over, and our experience was excellent. The location is absolutely outstanding – perfect for exploring London, with many major sights within walking distance. The breakfast was very delicious and well organized. Fresh omelets are prepared in front of you, and the selection offers everything you could possibly need to start the day. The gym, although not huge, is very well designed. It is spread over two floors and offers everything needed for a solid workout in a pleasant atmosphere. The rooms were modern, clean, and very comfortable. We arrived quite early (around 10:40–10:45 a.m.), and our rooms were already ready, which was a big plus and very much appreciated. We initially had a small issue with our room, but it was handled immediately and very professionally. The staff helped us right away and arranged new rooms without any complications. The service was friendly, efficient, and solution-oriented throughout our stay. Overall, a great hotel with excellent service, top location, and high comfort. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
My husband and I stayed here recently for our anniversary, and the hotel made a lovely effort to acknowledge the occasion. We were greeted with a thoughtful gift of wine, chocolates, and a little Happy Anniversary card in our room, which was a really nice touch. We also received a complimentary upgrade thanks to being Gold members, which we appreciated. The room itself was spacious, clean, tidy, and very comfortable. Concierge and front-of-house staff were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and a real credit to the hotel. There were, however, a couple of areas that let the experience down. We were disappointed that there wasn’t a bar available to use during the day, which would have been nice. Breakfast was also quite chaotic, with items running out frequently—glasses, cups, plates, and food weren’t being topped up quickly enough, which made the morning feel a bit disorganised. Overall, though, we enjoyed our stay and really appreciated the thoughtful anniversary touches and excellent service from the concierge team. Thank you to them for making our visit special.
