Our visit to the class was disappointing. I came with my 3.5-year-old child to her first general development class, looking for a friendly place where she could strengthen her abdominal muscles and become comfortable with physical activity. Unfortunately, from the very beginning, there was no introduction whatsoever – no one introduced the new children, explained the rules, or made them feel comfortable. Instead of encouragement and motivation, a cold, demanding tone prevailed. The older male coach repeatedly addressed the children in an unpleasant manner. He used phrases like "sit on the bench or you'll soon go home," "look at me, not there," and "what are you, woman?" – the latter directed at a boy with painted nails. Another child, who wanted to use the restroom, heard in an unpleasant tone: "It was recess, what were you doing during recess? We're wasting our time." During the exercises, he rushed the children, clapped at a little girl as if she were a dog, and said contemptuously: "You won't know what to do if you're not listening." The first warm-up was very intense and fast-paced, with no adjustments for new participants. My daughter, who had never participated in such a class before, was suddenly grabbed by the trainer's hand and pulled into a fast run with arm swings. It was too difficult for her – she started crying and said she couldn't catch her breath. No one bothered to ask what had happened. In the second part of the class, during the obstacle course, my daughter gradually began to break through and tried a few exercises, which was a great source of pride for me. Unfortunately, the older trainer's communication style remained the same – he rushed the children, issuing commands without a hint of a smile or patience. When my daughter approached me at the end of the class, she received a stern, "What are you doing? Turn around and get back to the exercises, this isn't a playground." At that point, I couldn't take it anymore and pointed out to the trainer that this should be a game, not a drill. The only response I received was a brusque, "This is supposed to be discipline, not fun." I felt very embarrassed by the situation. This wasn't what I expected from a class for such young children. It was also disturbing that the parents were separated from the children by glass doors – most of them couldn't hear the trainer's words. In summary: if you're looking for a class with a military-style discipline, you might find it here. However, in my opinion, classes for children aged 3-5 should be fun and motivating, not stressful and filled with unpleasant comments. We definitely won't be going back.
