24/7 Fitness Mong Kok shows 4.6 from 219 reviews, and its most detailed written review describes a specific access failure worth understanding before anything else - because it's about a common risk at any keyless, unstaffed 24-hour gym.

Locked Out by a Face That Wouldn't Recognize Him

Sky PT Mentor's one-star review describes exactly what went wrong: "I'm giving 24/7 Fitness no stars because they were unable to remedy the issue (recognition of faces). The Mong Kok branch staff has done an excellent job. It wasn't my fault; I only joined a few days ago. It was back and forth between the IT staff and the Mong Kok branch personnel... They said this was the first case ever." He's explicit that he isn't blaming the branch staff, who he calls courteous and professional throughout - his complaint is about a facial-recognition entry system failing to work for a brand-new member, with no reliable backup method to get in while it got sorted out. His own suggested fix is specific and reasonable: "Should have a QR code or something as a backup for future reference." I'd flag that as the actual risk worth understanding about any gym relying on facial recognition for entry: if the system misfires for you specifically, you need to know in advance whether there's a fallback that doesn't depend on IT resolving it in real time.

What Regular Members Describe

Mingshun Ip's review focuses on a different strength: "Surprising, keep changing new equipment, convenient, clean, great place for gym buddies." Dyon Lee, more recently, credits staff directly for solving an unrelated issue: "Service staff is really good and nice and kind. Helped me solve membership problems. Best place to sign up even though you can sign up anywhere." That's worth noting alongside Sky's complaint - both describe staff as responsive and helpful once a human is actually handling the issue; the access-system complaint was specifically about the technology, not the people.

An Honest Account of Scale

Madhurendra Narayan Tiwary's review is the most balanced, evenly weighing size against usability: "Rather small 24/7 fitness centre. It's good enough for a decent workout. It doesn't get too crowded." That's a specific trade-off worth knowing - a smaller footprint that, according to this account, translates into predictably available equipment rather than a cramped, over-subscribed floor.

What's Missing

No review states a membership price. Nothing confirms whether a QR-code or other backup entry method has since been added, as Sky suggested, following his access issue.

Who It's Not For

Anyone who wants a guaranteed backup entry method if facial recognition fails - one detailed account describes exactly that gap, with no clear fallback at the time. Anyone looking for a large facility with an extensive equipment range, given one reviewer's specific description of it as rather small.

Unfortunately, I'm giving 24 / 7 Fitness no stars because they were unable to remedy the issue. (Recognition of faces) The Mong Kok branch staff has done an excellent job. It wasn't my fault; I only joined a few days ago. So who's to blame? It was back and forth between the IT staff and the Mong Kok branch personnels. The entire crew was courteous and professional. They said this was the first case ever. I had traveled from the United Kingdom, and friends had advised me to try out their gym. I was extremely dissatisfied. I'm hoping that this does not happen again for the new member. It would be really distressing. Should have a QR  code or something as a backup for future reference.
