Even though I have lived in the Dayton area over thirty years, this was my first time dining at the Paragon. I can't believe it took so long. We had a mid-week reservation and were seatd as soon as we arrived. The meal was fantastic. Both my guest and I ordered the filet mignon and it was amazing. Cooked to perfection. The appetizer and side dishes were excellent. a And the cheesecake dessert was delicious. Our server was excellent. The atmosphere is that of a 1970s era supper club. Fantastic. Everything was just perfect! It won't take 30 years to go back!

One of the best, if not the best, steakhouses I've ever eaten at. Certainly for the price range. My wife's Filet Mignon was the best I've ever tried. Literally melt in your mouth tender, while still having a good flavor. My 18 oz. ribeye was very flavorful as well. Every bit of the food was fresh and piping hot. No notes on the food. It was perfect. It was a touch above Outback and others, while only slightly more expensive. Less than $100 per person, including tip, for a standard steak meal plus one drink. Could be more if you splurge a bit. We got there right when they open, at 4:45 on a Saturday. The restaurant was practically full, but no wait for a table for two. I hear this place gets busy, but arriving right at opening seemed to work well for us.

This place is phenomenal! The service is always above all standards, the atmosphere is lovely, and the food cannot be beat. The wagyu tomahawk is, hands down, the best steak I've ever had and they've perfected French onion soup. Supper Clubs are typically something from my grandparent's day but there's a reason this one is still around. The live music definitely ties everything together nicely. They're not unreasonably uppity, but nice dress is preferred. Dust off your Sunday Best and get here early.

Love the Dayton Supper Clubs! They are all gone except here and maybe Wisconsin and Minnesota. You will have about an hours want but then you will be seated. Lots of things they have that you just don't see anymore like pickled herring and Escargot. We had that, their 7 layer salad which was wonderful and probably one of the best steaks I have ever had, a 36 ounce Wagu Tomahawk that I split with my wife.

I've lived in the area for almost ten years and finally tried The Paragon. We arrived at 4:45 and a line was already forming outside. However, once the doors opened we were seated promptly. Our server was amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really cool with the black ceiling, brass chandeliers, and dark wood walls. I ordered the prime rib (med rare), creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, and 7 layer salad to start. Hubby ordered the ribeye, fries, mushrooms, Mac and cheese, and the French onion soup to start. The best thing on my plate was those mashed potatoes. I don't know what they put in them, but I would go back just for them. The prime rib was fine, but it was a surprisingly thin slice of meat and was not terribly juicy (even though it's served in the au jus). It's a signature item so I expected perfection and it fell short. Hubby's ribeye was excellent and the Cajun butter made it even better. The French onion soup was a star!! The seven layer salad was perfection - wish I knew what the dressing is! We ordered cheesecake and s'mores pie to take with us. We will be back as I need to try a different steak with hopefully better results.
