Next Generation MMA Liverpool

Liverpool, United Kingdom

Next Generation MMA Liverpool shows 4.6 from 24 reviews, and its five written reviews mostly describe a welcoming, broad-based combat sports gym, alongside one detailed critical account of a specific Muay Thai session worth weighing directly.

A Detailed, Critical Account of One Class

XeXDrug Looby's review stands apart from the others, and I think it deserves to be read carefully rather than dismissed: "Overall a nice gym, however I wouldn't go back. The trainer seemed nice, had one Muay Thai lesson, and I wasn't satisfied, as in my previous sessions in other places. Trainer didn't point out keys to improve or pay much attention to students. No pad work with the trainers. Haven't seen any punch bags to train your kicks and whatnot. The gloves were shredded and need replacement; they haven't provided any hand wraps either before putting gloves on." That's a specific, itemized set of concerns - no pad work, no visible punch bags, worn-out gloves, no hand wraps provided - based on one particular class, worth weighing against the more consistently positive accounts below.

A Confident, Comprehensive Endorsement

Konrad Chrusciel's review describes a much broader, more positive picture: "Best MMA gym in Liverpool! Classes for all levels in a variety of different combat sports - BJJ, grappling, wrestling, boxing, Thai Boxing and all possible combinations of them. All that in friendly and family like atmosphere. Highly recommended for everyone!" That range of disciplines - BJJ, grappling, wrestling, boxing, and Thai boxing all under one roof - suggests genuine breadth, which makes XeXDrug's single-class experience worth treating as one specific data point rather than representative of the whole program.

A Beginner's Account of Genuine Support

Peter McCaldon-Gower's review speaks directly to newcomers: "This is a top class gym to train in with a good friendly atmosphere. Everyone is willing to help regardless of their level of ability, which as a novice, is critical to feeling comfortable and progressing! MMA is a complex sport but you will get everything you need for it here, even if all you're looking for is to get fit!" Drew Griffiths's review reinforces the same welcoming pattern: "Fantastic gym and fantastic lads. Would highly recommend. Great mix of abilities and was made to feel welcome despite being a newbie."

What's Missing

No review states class or membership pricing. Nothing confirms whether the specific equipment issues XeXDrug described - worn gloves, no hand wraps provided, limited pad work in at least one class - reflect an ongoing pattern or a single off day. The most recent written review is from July 2019, more than seven years old now.

Who It's Not For

Anyone who specifically needs guaranteed, structured pad work and well-maintained gloves in every single class - one detailed reviewer describes a session lacking both. Anyone who needs current information, since the written record stops in 2019.
