Niraamayae Fitness Studio is in Kathmandu. It holds a 4.3 rating from 79 Google reviews.
Two things about the shape of this record before the content. Four of the five written reviews were posted in June 2024, within days of each other, which is a burst rather than a record built over time. And nothing has been added since.
The Ladies-Only Studio Is The Standout
Two reviewers raise it, six years apart, and the older one puts it in context.
A member in January 2018, three stars: "The most remarkable feature of this gym is a ladies-only studio, which is not seen in any other gym in Kathmandu. Kudos to that."
A member in June 2024: "For those of us who prefer a bit of privacy, there's even a women's room available."
"Not seen in any other gym in Kathmandu" is a strong claim, and I can't verify it. But it's the sort of comparison a local makes rather than a visitor, and it survived six years: someone else confirmed the room still existed in 2024.
If that's why you're looking, it's the reason this record matters.
The Three-Star Is The Most Useful Review
That January 2018 member is the only one who describes the building rather than the people: "It is a good gym, however I am not a big fan of the location. The weights section is acceptable, whereas the cardio section seems to be in better condition. They have a small calisthenics section on the terrace which is a unique feature not seen in most gyms. The changing room is large, however it is kinda awkward as it merges with the bathroom, offering little privacy."
Weights acceptable, cardio better. A calisthenics area on the terrace. And a changing room that runs into the bathroom, with little privacy.
That last detail is worth pausing on, because it sits oddly beside the ladies-only studio. A gym that provides a women's room and also has a changing area with privacy problems is doing one thing well and another badly. Both were true in 2018; I can't tell you about now.
The June 2024 Burst
A member in June 2024: "It's been over a year since my sisters and I joined and it's been a blast! Whether you're into lifting weights, sweating it out on the cardio machines, or shaking it up in a zumba class, they've got you covered. A big shoutout to Sunil sir, our floor trainer."
A member in June 2024: "From admin, front desk to O2 Cafe, outstanding and personable staff. Group classes are my fav: varieties of classes to choose with fun and motivating instructors."
A member in June 2024: "My sisters and I are going to the Niraamayae Fitness studio for the last one and half year and we love it. And there are people who has subscribed to it since its inception (10 years), so it's not just us recommending."
Three warm reviews in one month, naming a floor trainer and three aerobics instructors between them. There's also a cafe on site, called O2.
That last review makes an argument I'd take seriously: members who've been there ten years, since it opened. Longevity like that is hard to fake and it's a better signal than any of the adjectives.
Hours, And The Two Odd Days
Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday: 06:00 to 22:00. Monday and Tuesday: 06:00 to 20:00.
Two hours shorter on Mondays and Tuesdays, for no reason anyone explains. Easy to miss, and annoying if Monday evening is your session.
Who It's Not For
Anyone who needs privacy in the changing room, going by the 2018 account. Though if you're using the ladies-only studio, that may not apply.
Anyone wanting current information. Nothing here is newer than June 2024, and half of it is from 2018.
