The Exercise Coach in Lake Oswego, Oregon shows 5/5 from 6 reviews, and its four written reviews, from 2019 to 2021, consistently describe a one-on-one, technology-assisted strength training format designed to compress a full workout into 20 to 30 minutes.

A Detailed Account of Cost-Efficient, Short Sessions

An anonymous reviewer, from February 2020, gives the most thorough breakdown: "Excellent 1 to 1 support makes workouts quicker, easier. Well worth the cost, even if you need a jumpstart to start working out on your own, you could do like I am and just buy the membership for a short time; your personal coach walks you through each workout, very helpful and encouraging. Emily and Preston have been so good. Mellow and genuine, not pushy. High tech equipment makes the most of multiple muscle groups at once, so a 25 minute workout is equivalent to a 1 hour workout." I'd flag that specific claim directly: a 25-minute session described as equivalent to a full hour elsewhere, thanks to the machine-assisted, one-on-one format, is a concrete efficiency claim worth weighing if your main obstacle to training is time rather than motivation.

A Named Coach Credited With Maximizing Short Sessions

Tina Murphy's review, from October 2019, names a specific coach and describes a similar time-efficiency outcome: "I had an exceptional experience and would like to add the Exercise Coach to my fitness program. I worked with Tyler, who is excellent to work with, knowledgeable, and I recommend him as a coach for getting the max out of your training experience. The machines are amazing. Being an avid cross-training enthusiast, Tyler was able to show how I can gain strength and maximize muscle fatigue in an intense 20 to 30 minutes." I'd treat the fact that even a self-described avid cross-training enthusiast found real value in the short-session format as a stronger signal than a beginner's review alone, since it suggests the intensity holds up for people already experienced with training.

Consistent Praise for Communication and Safety

Bev Krause's review, from May 2021, focuses specifically on communication style: "The staff at The Exercise Coach are knowledgeable, friendly and very trustworthy. They encourage you with ongoing forthright communication to help you gain strength and whatever goal you may have. There's no comparison with anyone else in your progress, and their individual guidance supports you every step of the way to avoid injuries." Jodi Lien's review, also from May 2021, adds a hygiene and organization detail: she specifically describes machines being wiped down immediately after each use, in a small, clean studio environment.

What's Missing

No review states exact current membership pricing, beyond a general characterization of the cost as worthwhile. Nothing here confirms current opening hours, since none are published on the listing, and the most recent written review is from May 2021.

Who It's Not For

Anyone looking for a large, open gym floor with a wide equipment selection, since every review here describes a small, one-on-one studio built around short, guided sessions rather than independent training. Anyone who needs current pricing confirmed before committing, since specific costs aren't stated in any review.

Small, friendly environment and the trainers are all very knowledgeable and very organized. It’s a very clean studio and everything is wiped down immediately after a machine is used by a client. It is such a great, small gym and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone looking for a workout truly tailored to your own needs.

Excellent 1 to 1 support makes workouts quicker, easier. Well worth the cost...even if you need a jumpstart to start working out on your own, you could do like I am & just buy the membership for a short time; your personal coach walks you thru each workout, VERY helpful & encouraging- Emily & Preston've been SO good. Mellow & genuine, not pushy. Hi tech equipment makes the most of multiple muscle groups at once, so a 25 minute workout is equivalent to a 1 hour workout. & if u start because of my review here, it'll save both you & I each $50...mention Debra P ;) I hope to join 1 of their new group workout sessions next; costs less.

I had an exceptional experience and would like to add the Exercise Coach to my fitness program. I worked with Tyler who is excellent to work with, knowledgeable, and I recommend him as a coach for getting the max out of your training experience. The machines are amazing. Being an avid cross training enthusiast. Tyler was able to show how I can gain strength & maximize muscle fatigue in an intense 20 -30 minutes. I see huge benefit in this training concept. Lastly, the pricing is affordable. Call now for 2 free sessions to try it out.
