Anytime Fitness Taft Avenue: A Well-Equipped Gym with Areas for Improvement I recently had the opportunity to work out at AF Taft Ave here in Manila, and found it to be a very comprehensive fitness facility, though with a couple of areas that could use attention. The strength training area is undeniably a major strong point. They offer a truly full range of selectorized weight machines, making it easy to hit every muscle group effectively. I was particularly impressed by the availability of dedicated machines for chest press, shoulder press, seated low row, and a robust lat pulldown cable machine. For lower body, having both a plate-loaded leg press and a selectorized version, a seated leg curl and seated leg extension machine offers excellent versatility. The pectoral/rear deltoid machine is great for isolation, and the multipurpose cable machine provides endless options for various exercises. The cardio section is also very well-stocked, ensuring you'll likely find an open machine even during peak hours. They feature a diverse selection including one rowing machine, a challenging PowerMill climber (StairMaster), stationary bikes, and elliptical machines, catering to different preferences for cardiovascular workouts. For those who enjoy group fitness, the dedicated area for Zumba, HIIT, and dancing classes is spacious and provides an energetic environment for these activities. However, there are a couple of points to note for those with specific training preferences. There's a lack of a dedicated barbell bench area, which might be a drawback for lifters focused on free weight bench pressing. Similarly, the absence of a Smith machine means certain exercises requiring that apparatus aren't possible here. On a more general note, I observed a lack of napkins (tissue paper) in the comfort rooms, which can be an inconvenience. Additionally, some of the equipment could benefit from repair, especially their plates, which showed signs of wear and tear. Addressing these minor maintenance issues would significantly enhance the overall member experience. Despite these small concerns, the sheer variety and quality of the selectorized and cardio equipment available make this a very capable gym. With a little attention to detail in maintenance and amenities, it could easily be a top-tier facility in Manila.

one of the worst anytime fitness branches in manila. filled with student groups and condo occupants which leads to a very crowded gym even late at night. only time without people is early morning or after lunch (short window). to make matters worse: - no hot showers - weird bad smell - plates are all over the gym, no one returns them after use - lots of broken equipment - lockers are always full and locked for some reason even without occupants

Anytime Fitness at R Square Mall has potential, but my experience fell short of expectations. While the location is convenient and some equipment is well-maintained, several machines were either unavailable or in need of servicing during my visit. The gym also felt more crowded than expected, making it difficult to complete a full workout comfortably. Staff were polite, but support could be more proactive, especially during peak hours. With improvements in equipment upkeep and floor management, the gym could offer a much better member experience.

I had a very unpleasant and disrespectful experience at Anytime Fitness Taft Avenue today around 1 PM. After finishing my workout, I went to the restroom to freshen up before heading to school. I was inside for around 15 minutes, which I believe is a reasonable amount of time since I needed to change and pack my things. While I was inside the locked restroom, the coach and the janitor repeatedly knocked on the door even though it was clearly occupied and locked. What shocked me the most was that COACH MARLON used a key to unlock and open the door while I was still inside. The door was locked, which should already indicate that someone was using the restroom. OPENING a LOCKED restroom door while someone is inside is extremely inappropriate and a serious violation of personal privacy. Fortunately, I had already finished changing at that moment, but the situation could have been far worse if I had not been done yet. This kind of behavior shows a lack of respect and basic decency toward gym members. I hope management takes this matter seriously and ensures that their staff respect members’ privacy. No one should feel uncomfortable or unsafe while simply using the facilities of a gym they pay for. This is not even the first time something like this has happened. The janitors in this branch constantly knock on restroom doors even when they are clearly locked and occupied. This has been an ongoing issue for me and my friends since last year, when we started going to this branch. Out of all the Anytime Fitness branches I’ve visited, this is the only one where I’ve experienced such a lack of respect for members’ privacy.
