Heads up on the name first. This record is filed as Nyack Yoga, but every reviewer and the website itself call it Playful Yogi Space. Same address, 42 Main Street in Nyack, New York. If you go looking for "Nyack Yoga" you may not find it, so use the current name.

It holds a 5.0 from 94 Google reviews, and the record is current, with the newest from February 2026.

About That Perfect Score

Ninety-four reviews and not a single rating below five. I don't take that at face value anywhere, so what's going on?

My hypothesis, and I'm calling it a hypothesis: yoga studios are self-selecting in a way commercial gyms aren't. People who don't get on with a studio drift away after a class or two and never write anything. The people who stay tend to be attached to a specific teacher. Look at the reviews and they're teacher-first, not facility-first, which fits.

One review makes the mechanism visible. A member in February 2026: "I appreciate the email reminder to write a note. I am always grateful for the teachers, classes, and events I attend at Playful Yogi Space, but have neglected to put these feelings in writing."

So the studio asks. That's not a scandal and it isn't fake, she plainly means every word, but it does mean the sample is prompted rather than spontaneous. Worth knowing when you read a 5.0.

What Classes They Run

The reviews name a lot, and this is where the record earns its keep.

A member in November 2025: "They have a wide variety of classes from Hot 26 to Hatha, flow and aerial. There are many very experienced teachers, that have guided me and changed my body in profound ways. I have unlocked my stiff and stuck shoulders and hips. The classes have taken me out of profound discomfort and given me greater strength and flexibility. The atmosphere is lovely and calm. The staff is super friendly, and there is parking."

Hot 26, Hatha, flow, aerial. Plus prenatal, per another member.

A member in October 2025: "I originally started coming for prenatal classes, but have since taken a wide variety of classes they offer. Every teacher I've had has been incredibly supportive and welcoming. They offer such a range of class options, I feel like a kid in a candy shop looking at their schedule. They also have a separate hot studio and cool studio."

Two separate rooms, one hot and one not. That's an infrastructure fact, not an opinion, and it's the reason a Hot 26 and a gentle Hatha can share a timetable.

The Breathwork Class

A member in November 2025: "A deeply transformative class that uses breathwork for healing and emotional release. The sequence of yoga poses is well-paced, with enough pauses to really feel each movement. The warm room helps my muscles and joints relax and open."

I'm flagging that one because "emotional release" is a real thing to walk into unprepared. Whether that appeals or alarms you is personal, but the class exists and you should know before you book it.

What's Not Here

No prices. Ninety-four reviews and nobody names a figure, which is a pattern I keep hitting.

No word on whether drop-ins are welcome or it's memberships only.

Who It's Not For

Anyone who wants a gym floor. There isn't one described here.

Anyone allergic to studio warmth as a culture. Words like community, vibe, and coming home run through every review. If that reads as a lot to you, it's an accurate warning.

42 Main St, Nyack, NY 10960. The site is playfulyogi.space and the number is +1 845-535-1384. Hours run to 21:00 most weeknights, opening 07:30 on Tuesday, with Saturday closing at 14:00.

I appreciate the email reminder to write a note -- I am always grateful for the teachers, classes, and events I attend at Playful Yogi Space, (AND the friendly vibe in the foyer), but have neglected to put these feeling in writing. Thank you, Marco Jo, for this morning's Hatha class. You are one of the reasons I first came to this studio and it's always just right -- your music, intention setting, poetry, and the flow of the class with helpful cues and giggles suit me perfectly. With you, it's always like "coming home." And today, as usual, I learned something new -- about the 5 domes in the body and how to feel this in the arch of the foot and the other places in the body, especially while standing in tadasana. This is the best way for my week to begin and I will carry this energy, with my heart and breath, into the day and week! "This is how it is right now!"

Gina offers a deeply transformative class that uses breathwork for healing and emotional release. The sequence of yoga poses is well-paced, with enough pauses to really feel each movement. The warm room helps my muscles and joints relax and open. The playlist was perfect—it gave the class a steady rhythm, a mood, and a sense of momentum that supported inner reflection. I left feeling grounded, clear, and grateful for the experience.
