Before anything else: this record is old. The newest review here is from November 2019, nearly seven years back. The 4.2 rating from 500 reviews is a real number, but the five written reviews I can read all date from mid-to-late 2019. Staff turn over, equipment gets replaced, prices move. Treat everything below as a snapshot from 2019, not a description of what you'd walk into today.

The Complaint Two Reviewers Agree On
Here's the most useful thing on the record, and it needs both reviews to see it.
A member in July 2019, rating it four stars: "Overall a value for money. Very friendly support staff. The trainers are quite the opposite, totally unfriendly unless you avail a paid service. Wish the group classes could be conducted for men too."
A member in October 2019, rating it one star: "Very rude reception desk with a huge attitude problem, last month I am going to spend with them and moving to a different one."
One is happy enough to give four stars, the other is leaving. They disagree about almost everything except that the front-of-house interaction is a problem. When a satisfied customer and an angry one land on the same complaint, that complaint is usually real.
The four-star review draws the line precisely: support staff friendly, trainers unfriendly "unless you avail a paid service." That's a description of a sales model, not of personalities. If you've ever been ignored on a gym floor until you asked about PT packages, you'll recognise it.
I'm not naming anyone. One person's account of one desk, seven years ago, isn't grounds for that.
Men Couldn't Join Group Classes
The same four-star review: "Wish the group classes could be conducted for men too."
That's a single reviewer reporting that group classes were women-only, or at least not open to him, in July 2019. I can't verify it and nobody else mentions it. In Dubai, gender-separated class scheduling is common enough that this is plausible, but plausible isn't confirmed. If classes are why you'd join, ask before you pay.

Spacious, well equipped. Note that last one calls the trainers good, which cuts against the four-star review's account. I can't reconcile those, and I'm not going to pretend one reviewer outranks another.
"Value for money" appears once, from July 2019, with no figure attached. A price impression from 2019 is worth nothing to you now.
What's Missing
No opening hours on the listing at all. For a gym inside a hypermarket, that likely follows the store, but nobody says so and I won't assert it.
No phone number. The only contact is goldsgym.ae.
No description of any specific equipment beyond "well equipped."
