Agoge Selbstverteidigung Stuttgart Vaihingen

Germany

Agoge Selbstverteidigung shows a perfect 5.0 from 16 reviews, and while its name translates to "self-defense," the five written reviews describe something more specific: Kung Fu instruction built primarily around children, with a small adult presence.

Found While Looking for Something Else

Ina Schmidt's review, translated from German, describes how she landed here in the first place: "We searched for a long time for a suitable sport for our four-year-old son and came across Kung Fu for children. The training sessions are very entertaining and varied. Our son was excited from the start and loves going to training. The trainers really engage with the children and meet them at eye level." That's a parent who wasn't specifically looking for martial arts, found it, and stayed - worth noting if you're searching broadly for "something active" for a young child rather than martial arts by name.

A Specific Claim About Class Structure

Chase Trinh's review, in English, is the most concrete about how classes actually run: "They have a really good teacher to student ratio that allows for some individual attention. The class is very well organized that allows children to exert a lot of energy in a short amount of time while combining fun and learning." A good teacher-to-student ratio is a specific, checkable claim - worth asking about directly if class size matters to you, since "well organized" alone wouldn't tell you that.

What Parents Notice at Pickup

Sofia Mantz's review, translated from German, offers a different kind of evidence than any of the others: "A smiling and happy face when I pick up my daughter says it all. Her face speaks volumes. I can only highly recommend Agoge in Vaihingen." That's an indirect but genuinely useful signal - she's not describing the class content, she's describing what she observes afterward, which is arguably harder to fake than a written review.

An Adult's Longer View

Klaus Schuetz's review, translated from German and the oldest here, describes an adult's experience rather than a parent's: "After initial skepticism, I was convinced that the values of mutual respect, courtesy, and team spirit are very well lived and demonstrated here. For adults and children, an excellent environment to strengthen self-confidence, respect for others, and discipline. The training is always fun, even - and especially - when it gets really demanding." That confirms adults do train here alongside the children's programs the other four reviews focus on, even though the written record skews heavily toward parents.

What's Missing

No review states a class price. The published hours are narrow - Tuesday and Friday, 16:30-19:00 - which suggests a limited weekly schedule rather than daily access; confirm current times directly since the newest review is from July 2024. Nothing in the five reviews describes the physical space or how large the facility actually is.

Who It's Not For

Anyone looking for adult-focused martial arts training as the primary offering - four of the five written reviews describe children's programs specifically, with only one adult account. Anyone who needs a flexible daily schedule, given the narrow two-day-a-week published hours.

Handwerkstrasse 4, 70565 Stuttgart, Germany. The phone number is +49 711 18069395, and the website is agoge-selbstverteidigung.de. Open Tuesday and Friday 16:30-19:00.
