The Sportsman's Club is the definition of unassuming but absolutely epic. It's the perfect spot to duck into on a snowy day - warm, cozy, and packed with character. The vintage bar setup gives it this timeless, old-school charm, and the vibe is effortlessly cool without trying too hard. The cocktails are exceptional. The Sportsman cocktail is a true whiskey lover's delight - served up, strong, balanced, and incredibly smooth. At $13, it's one of the best-value craft cocktails you'll find anywhere. The decor leans into the theme in the best way possible - lots of deer antlers, rustic touches, and a laid-back energy that just works. And the back patio? Absolutely exceptional. I can only imagine how incredible this place must be in the summer. A must-stop spot with serious character and even better drinks.
This place is a vibe, I was lucky enough to hang out during a really cook pop up collaboration with a NY bar. I've heard really good things about featured BBQ's on the back patio, that seems to be renown for its high quality food and good times. I'll most definitely be back to check this place again when that pops off.
Solid neighborhood cocktail spot with a dive bar feel. Fixed menu is very solid with a good selection of cocktails. There's also a rotating menu that changes weekly. There's a patio out back with a small second bar when weather permits. Very worth your time to visit, especially if you're within walking distance
Fun happening casual and open spot. They hosted the Hawksmoor pop up event for a Sunday supper series. It was a fun event and open seating in the courtyard w diverse people. And there was a live DJ. The courtyard of the place was great...outdoor and a great hangout plus it has a fire pit made in history as part of the house/commercial property. Free parking lot. It's a hip place. Bartenders and staff nice too.
Went here for the taste talks Chicago closing night party with Altos tequila.\n\nThe decor is Backwoods rustic while being beautiful and sad at the same time.\nThe chandelier is gorgeous.\_ It is made out of deer antlers, and I hope that these\_ are faux or\_found on the ground and not taken from deers that were killed just for this purpose.\n\nI am not a fan of the Taxidermy theme, in fact it makes me think of this place as more of a Hunters only club or Refuge.\n\nI love the vintage booths in the front of the bar. They are very unique that they have a checkerboard built into the table top. It was very enjoyable to play Checkers with my\_ companion. There's only four of them, so get there early if you want to sit in a booth.\n\nThe atmosphere is very laid-back and reminds me of an old-school neighborhood Tavern with the long wooden bar and the Art Deco lighting.\n\nThere is a beautiful backyard outdoor garden with a fireplace, picnic tables, and a small bar which would be a great spot to enjoy in good weather.\n\nA big minus is that they are cash only,\_ and do not serve food. I was told you can order food to be delivered here though and there are plenty of choices in the area to do so.
