I think that the price is very good, in my opinion it's the cheapest gym in Switzerland. The place is quite clean and although sometimes there are many people and you have to wait a bit to use the equipment, you can do exercises normally. On the other hand, I think that it would be good if they eliminate some machines that are not used much, and they should install other machines that are currently missing, such as the machine for femoral, pec deck machine, abds rolls, etc. That would be very useful for many people.

Lots for cardio and a machine for any muscle if that's your thing. You'll find cables too. Enough dumbbells (even some heavy ones) and around 4 benches. Two squat racks and a tower but only one proper Olympic Barbell and a couple of junior barbells with plastic ends (~8kg). Plenty of plates though. Hard floor and not that much space to do free weight stuff. Helpfull staff and friendly members make it worth a visit.

Quite good for the price. Staff very friendly. Access to multiple locations. Negative note, the changing room for women in Bern is really too small!

very very hot inside, especially in the summer, no air conditioning(there is some sort of ventilation but is not working or they never turn it on, probably saving electricity money while you work in a stinky sauna), only some windows are open sometimes, you can hardly work out, you get immediately tired and sick because of the heat and feel like you have no energy to work. It's useless to go in a summer day, unless you like sweating bad and stinky smell, you get what you pay for.., and make sure to cancel 3 month before expiration date...

Basefit is a chain of low cost / discount gyms in Switzerland. That should tell you enough about the customer experience with them. I'll start with the positives: - It's cheap (for Switzerland anyways) - Long opening hours even on weekends - Rather clean - Pretty well equipped On to the negatives: - It's cheap, so your customer experience will be on par with what you pay for. Be very careful before you sign a contract with them because cancelling it is quite the hassle and the contracts are automatically renewed every year (or every second year). You have to ask at least 3 month before the end-date to officially cancel your subscription. Want to cancel after that? Well too bad, you are sh-t out of luck! Forget to pay early enough? Enjoy your late fees! No negotiation possible of course. You thought this was a civilized place? Welcome to the world of discount fitness studios! Needless to say, any early cancellation request is a complex process and of course, good luck getting any of your money back even if you are laying on a hospital bed. I guess harassing them on social media is probably the only way to get things done? - The staff: nothing more than glorified janitors from what I could see. Don't really expect much out of them. Again, they aren't really well paid so it's pretty understandable that they don't really care about you, so you're pretty much on your own. But if you know what you want to do and how to use the equipment, you can always ask other gym members for recommendations or coaching, at least that's what I do. - No airco and poor air circulation, forget about going there in the middle of the summer.
