Center Adi Yogashala in Rishikesh, India shows 4.3 from 16 reviews, and its five written reviews center overwhelmingly on one named teacher, Ira (also written as Iraa), with four strongly positive accounts and one specific reference to a disappointing experience.

A Detailed Account of Emotional and Family Impact

Aniket Shah's review is the most personal in this set: "Absolutely life-changing experience! My yoga instructor, Ira, has been a guiding light during one of the darkest times of my life. Her teachings have not only helped me find inner peace and gratitude for the life I have but also empowered me to share that gift with my loved ones. My mother, who is aging and needs to improve her flexibility and mental strength, has also greatly benefited from her guidance." I'd flag that detail about his aging mother directly, since it suggests Ira's teaching style adapts across a real range of ages and physical starting points, not just younger or more flexible students.

A Detailed Account of Technical Teaching Depth

Van's review focuses specifically on the technical substance of the instruction: "Iraa is a fantastic teacher, friendly and easy to understand. I have come back to learn from her twice, in her previous school. She explains everything so clearly as to know why we are doing something, not just how, and her detailed understanding of yoga anatomy helped me connect a lot of things I was missing from how or why certain asanas should be done in specific ways." I'd treat this as a meaningful signal specifically for practitioners who want anatomical grounding rather than just pose instruction, especially given the reviewer chose to follow Ira across two different schools.

A Specific Account of Safety for a Solo Traveler

Amy Wilson's review raises a practical concern relevant to many yoga travelers to Rishikesh: "As a young woman solo traveler I never felt uncomfortable or unsafe, and this was due to Ira. I had a wonderful experience and made connections for life!" I wouldn't gloss over that detail, since feeling safe as a solo female traveler is a genuine, practical consideration for anyone weighing a yoga retreat abroad, not just a nice-to-have.

A Reference to a Disappointing Experience

Koustubh Mukherjee's review stands apart from the rest: he describes learning about the school from a fellow traveler, referring friends in turn, but says their experience "turned out to be disappointing" without further detail. I'd flag this directly rather than omit it, since it's the only dissenting account in this set, even though it doesn't specify what went wrong.

What's Missing

No review states exact course pricing. Koustubh's review doesn't specify what exactly disappointed his friends, so I wouldn't assume it relates to instruction quality rather than logistics, accommodation, or another factor entirely.

Who It's Not For

Anyone expecting every experience here to be uniformly positive, since at least one reviewer specifically references friends who found their experience disappointing, without detail on why. Anyone who needs exact pricing before booking, since no review gives a specific figure.

Got to know about this yoga school from a fellow traveller and referred it to my friends. But unfortunately their experience turned out to be disappointing.
