Spartan Health Club - Gym in Kingston, Jamaica

It's one of the best gyms I've come across in Jamaica. It's big wi th different rooms for aerobics, cardio and weight. There is also a lounge and a smoothie counter. The bathroom is big, spacious and clean with showers. The staff was very friendly and courteous.

I've been a member of Spartan for 6 years and have been going on and off that entire time. I love the aerobic classes - although the mornings are more enjoyable for me because they are far less packed than the evening classes, and the energy of the trainers. I would recommend it based on the classes and facilities. I think you get alot of bang for your buck as well. But recently they have been increasing prices and restructuring the payment options so I'm not sure they are as competitive pricewise as they once were.

Spartan Health Club has been my gym for the past 3 years. It definitely is Kingston's best gyms from the perspective of availability of equipment and variety of aerobics classes. Evenings can get a bit crowded especially on Mondays, but I've heard mornings are good and Thursday through the weekend is always good where crowd is concerned. Walk-ins are done if you are visiting the country or the gym, and there is a smoothie bar if you need a post-workout shake, ample water coolers, drinks on sale and bathroom facilities with changing rooms, showers and lockers. This would definitely be the choice is you are into free weights and not machines. Happy gyming!

The gym has good facilities and friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful staff. Edited my rating down to 3 stars though because the monthly price was recently raised from $6000jmd to $10000jmd without any added benefits. This would be understandable if classes or a personalized health plan were included in the price. However this seems expensive to almost double the price for access to the equipment alone.
