Went here to see what it has to offer as I usually go to the Fareham centre. I thought the Fareham centre was the premier one in the area, but I think this one tops it. The gym is bigger or at least feels bigger. I've been twice here and both times there was little if any delay in finding an exercise machine available, second visit was straight after work at 4.30. I think I will be using this one more after work.
Holly Hill Leisure Centre and its team provide excellent sport and fitness service and facilities and is thoroughly recommended. Annual membership costs are pretty reasonable, and even if you are not a member you can still pay-as-you-go. It has a lovely wide 25m pool and a kiddies pool too. The gym and spin room have plenty of fitness equipment, and a couple of large studios enable a lot if different classes. Despite its popularity and usage, the whole establishment is kept notably clean! The staff are friendly, knowledgable, helpful and have a ‘can-do’ attitude. The mid and upper management team are notable in that they always seem to be interacting with the staff and monitoring the running and maintenance of the whole facility in a friendly but professional way. Parking is free and rarely a problem; an adjacent coffee (and ice cream!) booth and excellent kids playground round off the experience for all ages.
A regular swimmer here as the pool is great when lane swims are open. Easy to book the sessions on the app. Clean pool although sometimes the water can feel a bit cold. Spacious changing areas, however cleanliness can be variable and could do with a bit more attention (sometimes some of the cubicles smell a bit like urine!). Underfloor heating isn't used that often anymore so changing spaces can get wet after busy sessions. Good showers and free parking. Love this facility!
Modern leisure centre with good facilities and excellent classes. Badly let down by poor cleanliness of the swimming pool changing rooms which are irregularly checked by staff for cleanliness and hygiène. On a number of occasions small deposits of body waste have been reported.in shower cubicles with hair. Unacceptable. Hourly check signed forms should be displayed and the floor areas cleaned more frequently.
Gyms open until 8pm on a weekend. Sauna closes at 4pm without any obvious marketing. Class.
