Title Boxing Club North Station

Boston, United States

If you're weighing a membership here, start with the two one-star reviews, because both come from people who liked the actual boxing. That's the useful signal. TITLE Boxing Club North Station is a franchise fitness center on Causeway St in Boston, rated 4.1 across 115 votes, and the complaints cluster around billing and marketing texts, not the training.

The classes get praised even by the critics

Read the July 2025 one-star and you'll see the pattern. It opens with "Excellent boxing classes and environment- the instructors do a great job," then drops the score for a specific reason: the club texts your personal cell on holidays and weekends even after you reply STOP, and the messages come from different numbers so you can't just block one. Their advice was blunt: don't give them your real cell phone.

There's a boring mechanism behind that, and it matters. Franchise gyms run marketing through automated platforms that rotate short codes and long numbers, and a STOP reply only unsubscribes the number that sent it. That doesn't make the spam pleasant. It means the fix is to ask, in writing, to be removed from all SMS campaigns, and to hand over an email instead of a primary phone at signup. You're consenting to marketing contact when you join. Knowing that upfront changes what you agree to.

The October 2025 one-star is different and thinner. It also says the boxing is a great workout and the instructors are great, then aims a personal complaint at a named manager over a disputed charge and dismissive treatment. It's one voice describing one person, so I won't repeat the name or adopt the characterization. But the shape is familiar: a billing mistake plus a service interaction that went badly. If a wrong charge is the risk you care about, ask how disputes are handled before, not after.

Where the positive voices agree

The five-star reviews are consistent about the product. A February 2024 member calls the facility very clean with a good vibe and motivating instructors. An August 2025 first-timer describes being welcomed into an environment that felt safe, with staff helping them get started and one-on-one support in the first class. A 2023 member praises friendly staff and an inclusive, welcoming space across abilities and ages. Here's my read across all of them: the coaching and the room are the strong parts, and people who quit still say so.

What that 4.1 measures

This is a mid-tier franchise average, and the written reviews explain the gap. Nobody is complaining about bad workouts. The drag comes from operations you'd sort out at a corporate franchise anywhere: aggressive automated marketing and a charge dispute. Those are exactly the things a trial class won't reveal.

What's missing

No review states the membership price, the class package structure, or the cancellation terms, and those are the details that generate the complaints above. The website is titleboxingclub.com/north-station-ma, so the pricing exists somewhere it isn't quoted here.

Who it's not for

Skip it if aggressive text marketing is a dealbreaker, or if you want month-to-month with zero contract friction. It looks like a genuinely good place to learn boxing if you go in with a throwaway phone number and clear questions about billing.

Frequently asked questions

Is the boxing instruction actually good?

By the reviews, yes. Even the two one-star reviewers open by praising the classes and instructors before docking points for billing and texts.

Why do reviewers complain about text messages?

A July 2025 member reported marketing texts from multiple numbers that continued after replying STOP. Ask to be removed from all SMS campaigns and give an email at signup.

What does membership cost?

No review lists a price. Check titleboxingclub.com/north-station-ma or call +1 617-426-9464 for current rates and cancellation terms.

I loved the attention and support I received. It was my first time taking boxing classes and I didn't know what to expect. I was welcomed into an environment that felt safe. I felt supported and guided. I also experienced a good balance of pushing myself while taking the time to do things at my own pace. Tivon helped me get started and situated. Alex did an amazing job on providing support on my first class.

I just joined at the beginning of February and I've really enjoyed the classes I've taken. The facility itself is very clean and has a good vibe. I've liked each individual instructor that I've had; they all have their own style but each instructor has been very motivating and brings a good energy to the class. I never knew a boxing gym would've been my style, but I already feel that this is something that is easy to incorporate into my life; it's an awesome workout and a perfect stress reliever!

Boxing is a great workout and the instructors are great, but I highly discourage you from being a member here. This gym is currently run by someone, Tivon, who will tell you he values members and then will never help you, will dismiss you when you get wrongly charged, will teach his employees not to help anyone for human mistakes, and will instead treat you like an idiot. If at all possible, I encourage you to at least go to a different location. He's on site on this one often so his attitude and dismissal is hard to avoid here.

Excellent boxing classes and environment- the instructors do a great job. Low rating because they spam your personal cell with texts on holidays/weekends even after you reply "STOP". And it comes from different numbers, so I can't just block. Whatever you do, do NOT give them your real cell phone, and perhaps email.
