I've been really impressed with the changes this gym has been making lately. You can tell management is actually listening to member feedback and investing back into the facility. The updates have made a noticeable difference--from improved equipment and cleaner spaces to a better overall atmosphere. The staff has been more engaged and welcoming, and the gym feels more organized and motivated than it did before. It's clear they're focused on creating a better experience for everyone, whether you're just starting out or you've been training for years. Change isn't always easy, but in this case it's definitely been for the better. I'm excited to see where the gym goes next and feel confident recommending it to anyone looking for a place that's actively improving and moving in the right direction.

Awesome gym. Really unique set up. Clean and not crowded. Hot tub and sauna. Nice dressing rooms. Not bad deal for a month pass 98 dollars. Which equals about 25 a week with no commitment or extra fees.

I would love to be a member here, but I feel like the lack of cleanliness has kept me from joining. I'm certain they have never cleaned the hot tub, the water is gray with algae and skin molecules floating around. A walk through the locker room, and you notice the ceiling vents are clogged with dust and debris. A little TLC and more routine cleaning, and this place would be worth a membership.

I am really sad to be writing this review as I have been loyally coming to the athletic club for years but I feel like I need to warn people since a lot of these reviews are really outdated. In the last 2 years things have seriously gotten worse. The facilities are FILTHY. The locker room has black mold, often the same wad of hair will be in the same shower for days on end, the showers are often broken. I live off grid and rely on the athletic club showers after I work out, if I didn't have to shower there I absolutely would never. My partner had to see a doctor and got diagnosed with a serious bacterial skin infection (folliculitis) after using the hot tub that lasted for weeks. He dealt with a severe whole body rash and finally had to get checked out by a professional. When we were told the type of infection he had was from a hot tub we knew exactly where the infection came from as the athletic club hot tub is the only hot tub he ever uses (he used to routinely use it once a week.) The hot tub rarely gets cleaned and is very dirty, murky, the walls of it feel slimy and often there is sand on the bottom. When I tried to talk to a staff member my concerns I was met with with combativeness and wasn't taken seriously. This is a serious health hazard and needs attention immediately. The majority of the staff is super rude, cold, lazy, and on their phones/act super irritated if you just need a towel. One employee is SUPER nice and we love when he works which is unfortunately only on weekends. I wish I could give him 5 stars but that's about it. There is another employee who works early mornings who is also usually very kind too. All of my favorite employees have sadly left and told me that they absolutely hated working here, and it shows. They keep raising the membership prices, and the quality keeps going down. I recently went to a class at Evergreen and couldn't believe how nice Evergreen fitness is now compared to the athletic club. If it weren't for the convenience of being accessible downtown, I would have switched long ago. When people ask me which gym I recommend, I now have been saying to avoid the athletic club if you can because the quality is so poor. The machines themselves are often broken, many are very outdated. Wifi hasn't worked in most of the building for a long time. Barely anyone uses the cleaning sprays after machines, which makes sense because often the sprays are empty or the paper towels are empty. I have gotten in the habit of bringing my own wipes because literally almost every machine I go to is dirty or has sweat all over it from the previous person. You would think that with how high the rates are, they would put some love and money into the actual facilities. Also, the hours are super limited. I so WISH this gym was open longer, especially on the weekends. They have very short hours and no key card entry for members unlike Evergreen and Acorn. I really hope that some love is put back into this place like how it used to be, it used to be wonderful and a joy to go.
