Gaia Flow Yoga Plano - Gym in Plano, United States

I've participated in six classes at Gaia Flow Yoga during my newbie first week (which was an amazing deal of $25 for unlimited classes for one week, a wonderful way to truly get the feel of the place) and I am hooked. Each teacher I've experienced has been warm, inviting, incredibly knowledgeable, challenging, and directive. I tried all of their classes recommended for beginners and the variety was everything I was hoping for and more. (the Still Waters class is WAY more challenging than you'd like to believe!) The community of teachers AND students here has truly blessed me this past week, so much so that I had to share my heart in this review. 👎🏻👎🏻!!! Put your guard up. I am an authorized Ashtanga teacher and over 1,000 hour yoga teacher. I currently practice the Original Advance B in Ashtanga. When I found Gaia Flow Yoga in 2014, I was recovering from an injury on my left wrist from broken bones, cartilage & ligament tears as I fell in handstand. It took me nearly 3 years to get back on track where I could practice without pain on my wrist. As my wrist was healing, my practice was getting stronger. An owner Chrystal Rae always says in class "It is your practice, so take your level." As I was recovering from an injury, I practiced many advanced asanas on my own in class, otherwise my practice couldn't grow at Gaia Flow. Then, one day Chrystal Rae texted me saying "Your practice disturbs me & others." Then she said "People follow you not me." So, I realized when she said "Practice at your level", she meant "Practice below Chrystal Rae's level not above." In reply I told her how disappointing it was for me to hear her comment. She couldn't answer me in reply. Another time it was embarrassing she was nearly yelling at me in class it was because I did not sit in a same way she sat on a mat. She also mentioned in in class "Mimi! Age will catch you up someday!" Obviously I was bothersome for her and threat to her for various reasons. Chrystal will definitely spot you if your practice is advanced than hers. If she had not done yet, she will invite you to her home for a private practice so that she can learn from you. However when she invites you to her home for practice, she won't pay a penny to you for the time you spent for her. But when you come to her class at Gaia Flow, you pay for her class. Her morning private practice may sound free but she needs a group of teachers & students for her own practice. She won't practice alone. 4 years ago She invited me to her home by talking sweet to me "practice together" for the Ashtanga Second Series. I went her home almost everyday & taught her for 2 hours every time I was there during the week for the first month. And then I taught her 3 times a week for following 2 months at her home. She had paid me no penny. She was so good at in a sweet talk saying we are yoga practitioners & ought to share LOVE one another. Apparently I taught Chrystal Rae the Ashtanga Second Series for FREE at her home for 3 months. Hand adjustments on her were very hard, because her body wasn't really ready for many asanas for the second series and on the top of that she is a big woman to hand onto for adjustments. Some students told me Chrystal thinks that she is a queen and we ought to serve her. And I agree. I love her two chihuahua dogs. One day she was sitting at the front desk and I was standing the other side. She asked me to clean her dog hair shedded by her own dogs on the desk. I cleaned out of kindness. But I wonder why she thought it was okay for her to ask me to clean her dog hair when she could clean??? Some teachers and students expressed that they wanted to practice with me outside of Gaia Flow. When Andres & Chrystal found out about it, they asked me not to come their studio anymore. Then Chrystal put a bad mouth about me to others. She used to say out loud in class "I love you, Mimi." But whenever I see their logo "Love is Why", I feel it is saying "$$ is Why". A word of LOVE she uses is just for business. Truly I was used by Chrystal Rae. SO many of teachers quit teaching at Gaia Flow, but they keep pictures of the teachers on their website who don't work anymore. They have been asking teachers if they could keep their pictures on social media. I am sure they want people to think the same teachers on same faces working and are all dedicated to Gaia Flow. That is false. It took me about a year to decide to leave the review. I pray and make sure all words would be written fairly in the review.
