Sports Direct Fitness Cheltenham

Joined up again to take advantage of the heat treatments as my other gym doesn't have it, has improved as they've expanded the free weight area which is nice to see, my only major issue is they've taken the water fountains out and apparently have no plans to reinstall, I wouldn't mind but the tap water in the changing rooms is only hot and there's only a cold tap in the pool/sauna area or you can ask at reception to get your bottle filled, Seems daft to spend money revamping and not include a cold water fountain in the gym when there was one previously

A well equipped gym, the main selling point for me is that there is a swimming pool with a well priced membership (£20 per month). There are other gyms in Cheltenham with a pool and a premium price tag but without premium services so this gym is a good midpoint. Would be useful to have more lanes in the pool for morning swims, as a pool leisure area is not needed at these times.

STAY AWAY From this gym ! The contract they tell you you are joining is NOT the contract which they get you to sign . They says it's a 6 month contract which after 6 months goes into a rolling contract which you can cancel at any point after the 6 months . If you try and cancel inside 6 months they want 3 month's notice and the rest of the 3 months fee which is £60 and £10 admin fee , why you have to give notice to leave a gym in the first place is beyond me and quite clearly beyond Matthew the customer service manager at there head office and Nathan the manager at Cheltenham when that's question was put to them they quite clearly did not know the answer and just keep saying it's in there terms and conditions . The point being is when you try to cancel your membership after the 6 months and you are then on the rolling contract which they say you can cancel at any time with NO cancellations fee is rubbish they still demand that you give them 3 months notice and expect you to pay the £60, 3 month fee and £10 admin charge . They will send emails and ring you from different numbers preaching you have broken there terms and conditions demanding the Money . If you read this and are the same position which quite a few people have been . Stand your ground just because there a big company does not give them the right to rip you off .
