Title Boxing Club Springfield

Springfield, United States

Start with the most honest five-star review here, from January 2020. A college student admits the membership "was a bit steep for me at first," stayed because of student and family deals, and then buries the single most useful line in the whole listing: "My only critique is that most of the instructors work your dominant side only. I prefer balance, but otherwise love the classes." That's a five-star reviewer handing you a real coaching note. If you box, you already know why one-sided work matters. I'd walk in and ask the trainer to balance the rounds.

What it is

Title Boxing Club Springfield is a franchise boxing and kickboxing studio, not an open-floor weight gym. Google tags it as a sports complex and coaching school, and every review is about classes: heavy-bag rounds, kickboxing, and personal training. You show up, you get told what to do, you sweat. One August 2023 member put it plainly: "I like just showing up and being told what to do." If you want to program your own lifts, this format will frustrate you.

Where the voices agree

Across 165 reviews the average holds at 4.6, and the written ones cluster on two points.

The classes are hard on purpose. A March 2023 reviewer calls them "satisfyingly hard," an August 2023 member (joined July 2020, self-rated athleticism 7.5, never boxed before) singles out the morning coach Tommy whose "round 7 and 8 are the most intense." When several strangers independently describe the same brutal rounds, that's the product, not hype.

The front desk sets the tone. Teresa gets named by two separate reviewers for making beginners feel welcome, and a first-timer in October 2023 credited clear instruction from Tyler for picking it up fast. Praise with names attached is fair to repeat, and here it's consistent.

What the 4.6 is measuring

With 165 reviews, this number is load-bearing. A single bad day can't move it, so 4.6 reflects a genuine spread of experiences, not a lucky streak. What is it measuring? Coaching energy, class intensity, and a welcoming door. The written reviews match the score instead of contradicting it, which is the healthy sign.

What's missing

The gap is price. The one reviewer who mentioned cost only called it "steep" and referenced student and family deals without a single dollar figure. Nobody lists a monthly rate, a class-pack price, or what those 10 personal-training sessions cost. Franchise pricing varies by location and contract, so the honest move is to ask before you sign. The site is titleboxingclub.com/springfield-va and the phone is +1 703-644-2582. I won't invent a number you'd treat as gospel.

Who it's not for

Powerlifters and self-directed lifters who want a rack and a plan they wrote themselves. This is a coached, class-based bag gym. If being told what to do for an hour sounds like a chore rather than a relief, keep looking.

FAQ

What kind of workouts does Title Boxing Club Springfield offer?

Coached boxing and kickboxing classes built around heavy-bag rounds, plus paid personal training. It's class-based, not an open weights floor.

Is it good for beginners?

Reviewers say yes. Multiple first-timers, including an October 2023 visitor, describe clear instruction and a non-intimidating room, with staff who ease newcomers in.

How much is membership?

No review states a price. One only called it "steep" with student and family discounts available. Call +1 703-644-2582 for current rates.

Any real criticism in the reviews?

One thoughtful five-star note from January 2020 says instructors tend to drill your dominant side only, so ask your coach to balance both sides if that matters to you.

Tyler is a great instructor. Tonight was our first time trying, and he had such great energy and his instruction was very clear so we were able to pick it up easily. We are coming back every week for his session

Awesome high intensity morning workout. Ive been a member since July of 2020. I would say my athleticism a scale of 1 to 10, Im about a 7.5 and Ive never boxed before. Flexible class schedule whether if you are a morning person (like me), an afternoon or evening person. There is consideration for beginners. The morning classes with Tommy. He has a wealth of boxing knowledge and round 7 and 8 are the most intense. All in all I would say its a good warm up for experienced individuals and a excellent workout for beginners. Good job Title Boxing!

I have been coming here for boxing and kickboxing classes for a few months now. The classes are intense, but fun and and I always feel great after the workout. The instructors give you good advice on how to use different combinations in the fight. Teresa, Kevin, Tyler and Matthew are awesome. I highly recommend checking taking their classes!

I had been thinking about joining a boxing gym for a while to help deal with stress, and when I walked into Title in Springfield Teresa greeted me with the most positive and uplifting energy. The gym itself didn't feel intimidating either, which as a beginner was a relief. Teresa's positive attitude made me feel comfortable immediately. I signed up right then and there. I also bought 10 personal training sessions that have REALLY helped my form and corrected some things I was doing wrong. The classes are satisfyingly hard, and that's exactly what I was looking for. I like just showing up and being told what to do. Would 10/10 recommend.

I am a college student, so the membership was a bit steep for me at first. I couldn't bring myself to cancel it however, because I enjoy the classes and facility so much, and they have deals for students and families. The Kickboxing classes in particular really push you to the limit. There is a variety in the clientele and instructors, young, old, male, female so it makes you feel well integrated and comfortable. The trainers and desk workers are friendly and helpful. Boxing and kickboxing have given me a surge of confidence, and I love the workout. They are also renovating the Springfield club, so it looks great. My only critique is that most of the instructors work your dominant side only. I prefer balance, but otherwise love the classes.
