For anyone visiting Tokyo and looking for a short-term gym option: I emailed this JOYFIT location to ask about visitor access. They informed me that they do not offer a traditional day pass. However, they have an “ENJOY TIME PASS” system that costs ¥1,650 per 30 minutes (¥3,300 per hour). I appreciated that they responded promptly and clearly explained the pricing, but travelers looking for a standard day pass may want to consider other gyms. Stars for prompt response.

The staff told me that I am not allowed to walk backwards on the treadmills! I read the reply, understood the reason. However, the main reason I used the gym is to walk backwards on the treadmills for my knee rehabilitation. And I was not informed that it not allowed in advance. I explained and wanted to cancel my membership, but I was told that all the cancel free (which is a lot) will be my expense! And no matter what they will do nothing about it. That doesn’t make sense to me. Walking backwards on the treadmills is one of the popular exercise for knee pain. And others workout in the gym, if not all, are dangerous (risk) as well!
