I am a tourist who visited Rockhampton Fitness Center. The gym is staffed during the hours of 5:30am-7:30pm Monday to Friday, and 9am-1pm on Saturday. Fantastic gym, with a $15 AUD day pass that grants access to an old-school but well equipped and maintained gym. No shortage of machines or weights, and exceedingly warm and friendly staff. Card and cash is accepted, lockers and water cooler available for free and supplements are sold here.
Norm- an absolute legend, couldn't be more helpful. Fitness Passport stuff is super easy, no extra costs for swipe cards or fobs on top of Fitness Passport cost. No money grabs, just genuine people wanting to provide a product.
As many others have noted, this is an old-school gym and has absolutely everything you need plus more. I was in town for just one week but was stoked they allowed casual visits for just $15. Travelled all over and this is quite possibly the best gym I've ever visited. Would join in a heartbeat if I lived in Rockhampton!
Probably one of the best gyms I've been to! It's really huge and you can find literally everything you need. Even though I went at a peak time, it was pretty empty. The staff was excellent - really friendly and helpful! Everyone has to take a cleaning cloth and a little spray bottle and clean before and after use of all equipment - there's really no excuse not to clean after yourself. Plus there's even a heated pool and all cross fit equipment!! Huge high 5!! 👊🏼👏🏻🙌🏻
I quite like this gym. Good people, large space, friendly atmosphere, no attitudes or egos. I just wish they'd put a little more effort into cleaning and maintenance.
