Barbarian Gym

3rd year- I'm back. £32 for 2 weeks membership via the app, makes it much easier than paying the daily rate- and cheaper. It's still the same great gym!!! This place is old skool and that's what I liked about it. People there are really friendly, helpful and I did a few PBs while I was there. I was here on a holiday.

Good choice of machines and free weight equipment, though most are aged and stuffed next to each other to maximize usage of the floor space. Changing rooms are weirdly designed, like it's assumed you won't actually use it. Trainers are friendly and ready to help, though could offer more guidance and support for newcomers. There are vending machines with drinks and snacks accepting coins. Overall good gym for a focused workout.

I used this gym three times for personal training sessions. The space is very small and the equipment is old, although functional. During initial conversations, a sauna was mentioned, but I was not informed that it only operates on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The trainer, Kyriakos, is very good, but the lack of hot water in the showers and the absence of a hair dryer in the women’s changing room are unacceptable, especially considering the price of 25–30 euros per hour. Sauna ceiling is close to collapse. Overall, this place is far from European standards. Time to invest!!!

As someone who has traveled around the world, I find the price way too high for machines that are at least 10+ years old, if not even older. I understand that locals might like the gym because they are friends with the owners or have personal connections, but from a gym perspective, it is small, the machines are outdated, and the membership fees are expensive.
