ZR Team Hungary

I’m smitten with this dojo and the oh-so-very-fine humans that teach and train there. The sign up process is pain free and easy with an app that works seamlessly. The location is nice and central and enough parking around if you have a car. It’s a clean big space with white, clean tatami flooring. The 18:30 No Gi classes I’ve attended are super popular, so I got to roll with all sorts of different people and belts. The heavier guys are respectful to not hurt lighter weight people. The music while training is great and motivating. The female bathroom is spacious, a little tired but absolutely sufficient. Muito Obrigada gente! OSS!

I was looking for a Jiu-Jitsu gym in Budapest with serious training but a friendly, respectful environment — and this place delivers. The coaches are very technical, explain the “why” behind the moves, and give real, useful feedback that helps you progress quickly. The team culture is great: people are welcoming, there’s no ego, and you can roll hard while still keeping it safe. Classes are well structured and the gym is clean and well maintained. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already experienced, I genuinely recommend training here. I’m currently in a break from Bjj due an injury but longing to return, and specifically, return my trainings there!

What an absolute amazing experience! I'm visiting Budapest from the United States and ZR Team Hungary was literally a 2 minute walk from my Airbnb! I emailed them about visiting and had a response within 30 min. This gym met a stranger and immediately treated me like family. I had the opportunity to train at ZR Team BJJ Budapest a few times in July, and each visit was a great experience. Classes always started with a solid warm-up, the techniques were effectively explained, making it easy to follow regardless of experience level. The atmosphere is welcoming —every sparring partner I rolled with was both friendly and knowledgeable. I'll definitely be back. It truly felt like a home away from home.

Due to the nature of my job, I travel frequently, and no matter which country or city I’m in, I always try to find a jiu-jitsu gym to train at. This time, I attended a class at this gym in Budapest for the first time. Even before the class started, the staff explained everything so kindly and thoroughly, which I really appreciated. The gym itself was absolutely beautiful, and the maestro welcomed me warmly, making me feel completely at ease. The technique class was fantastic—they taught one technique, had us drill it, and then kept building up the details step by step, which I found really effective. Everyone there, including the other students, was gentlemanly and kind. I’ll definitely keep coming back to this gym whenever I’m in Budapest. I highly recommend it to everyone—don’t miss out!
