World Health Calgary Gyms

This is a really great gym. The manager and trainers are super friendly and helpful. The space and equipment are kept to a really high standard. The classes are fun and frequent. The people that attend are also very lovely; within a few days of starting you'll start seeing familiar faces. Would recommend to anyone.

This is my first gym review in 20 years. Reason I gave this location a 5 star is because the Gym equipment have improved compare to 2014. Andrew and the staff is always friendly. The bathroom and equipment is clean and dust free. I appreciates the cleaners there who actually go around and dust. Compare to other gym places where there is none, beside staffs put equipment back to it place. Equipment doesn't take a month to fixed. I appreciated the staff doesn't pressure sales to join. I love the non-contact the most.. I wish world health have more location. I moved around a lot and even relocate job which always switches gym facilities like 8 months to a year. Almost like a gym facilities hopper for my convenience. I must say each facility of World Health is one of the most consistent fitness company by far. It is a good place for in/out gym goers like me that gym 4/5 times per week and spend 2 hrs per visit. If I have consistent available time, I would definetly sign up with a professional guide. Because I know most of the staff there is genuine to help.

Update: a new gym opened around the corner from my home with a much better monthly plan and fits my needs better. I had asked the staff at World Health what it took to close my membership and they said just come in when you want to switch and there’s a 2 week fee, which you still have access to the club. A few weeks later when I decided to end my membership the gentleman at the desk informed me I would be charged 2 weeks service and they would also keep my deposit to pay for the following 2 weeks. When I explained this wasn’t what I was told previously he was rude and said I could take it up with corporate. Not impressed with these extra fees after spending years as a member of world health. Defiantly a way to leave a sour taste in your customers mouth. Good gym with lots of new equipment. No towel service of yet. Some of the staff are great, some not so much. Nice steam room. A bit expensive per month compared to some alternatives but less busy than some. Biggest downside is the new squat racks don’t face a mirror so it is hard to work on your form. Turning into a bit of a CrossFit gym.

LIARS My daughter went for a free exercise session 10 days ago. She was really happy with the trainer and signed up for a membership with the promise that she could cancel within 14 days. She went in today to cancel and they would not give her money back. The reason she wanted to cancel is because the trainer kept cancelling her sessions. The latest reason was “it’s the long weekend”. So you take young peoples money and then are never available when it’s time for the training. I want you to honour what was told to her and give her money back to her. Not impressed at all. LIARS.
