Virgin Active - Manchester, Printworks

What is it with ALL city centre gyms, it is perfectly clear that at least 70% of attendees are male and most of them want to do weight training so why on earth are the weight rooms so small in comparison to the half empty girls areas which always take up most of the floor space ? The free weights rooms are always packed out,even later at night, every one is on top of each other, this is not an enjoyable experience. Please will some one open a spit & sawdust old school gym for men like they have everywhere in the states, a Golds Gym in Manchester City Centre would be big hit.

I hate this gym! It is just too busy, can never get on any equipment. It smells really bad, no staff are around cleaning equipment like I see at other gyms. No staff around to help with anything apart from at the desk, getting MORE people joining. Rubbish air conditioning it is always boiling. As a woman I hate it here especially because in the evenings there are groups of men that don't seem to do anything and you just feel stared at. Please avoid joining here at all costs, I am gutted I am tied in for six months.
