Very friendly staff and great gym and pool. Highly recommend
A really good gym with friendly staff.
Dirty toilets/missing toilet seats in male change, not what I had expected. Nice gym equipment but getting the basics wrong.

I have been going here for the last 8 weeks every other day so can offer an informed opinion. PLEASE CLICK ON MY 'PHOTOS' FOR EVIDENCE OF A LACK OF AVAILABILITY OF CLASSES. Firstly each and EVERY member of staff I've had dealings with have been superb and they ALL are a credit to Nuffield. However, don't expect any replies to emails to managers in order to answer a complaint as once they've got your money, that's the end of it. I've emailed three times to ask about a potential refund due to the product I purchased not meeting what I was promised, and it hasn't even been acknowledged. That's just PLAIN RUDE. Just a reply would have been nice even if they are not willing to refund. I joined to use the pool for rehab' so I can't comment on the gym. The changing rooms are excellent, always clean and plenty of room, especially with the corner cubicles with a seat for those of us with mobility issues, the showers are great too. However this place is simply way over subscribed. I can only walk in the pool so have found it very difficult to do this due to the timings of the family swim, Aqua and Swim School. There are two lanes always cordoned off for fast swimmers which get very busy. No one can have a leisurely swim there. So, from about 10am ish the pool is very busy with people swimming/chatting before Aqua etc. Due to living in Stafford the traffic is horrific to leave the house any earlier. In my opinion the family swim should not be from 2pm (it's 12pm at the weekend) as it doesn't give enough time in-between classes for adults to use the pool, as it generally gets rammed with families after 2pm, which is fine but why not make it 4 or 5pm? The Jacuzzi is the same, it's lovely if you can get in it but there's literally only been one occasion where there's been much space as it's only small. After Aqua the ladies use it as a meeting place and many sit on the edge chatting with their feet dangling in it for ages. When walking in the pool I nearly always meet some floating hairs which really makes me gag, plus the odd floating plaster. It's not surprising after 40 or more people have used the pool for Aqua but the vacuum and filtration system really needs looking at. I certainly wouldn't put my head or mouth in that water. Although the staff check the Chlorine levels very regularly it is extremely strong and lasts in the respiratory system for 24 hours, I can't use the pool more than once every other day due to this. Again, I feel the ventilation system needs looking at. You can book classes on the app but every time I've looked at each class they are all always full (see my attached screenshot) with only waiting lists available. You can only book a week in advance and can hear people constantly moaning about this when in the Jacuzzi saying they are not going to re-new and use Wolverhampton instead. I can't comment on the steam room as don't use them due to being a breeding ground for germs but the sauna is fine. The Coffee shop is good and offers good coffee and snacks. The car park gets very full and sometimes difficult to get a space. To summarise, if I was paying 20 quid per month or something I wouldn't be so critical, but I've paid £153 (£51 per month) for peak membership for three months so my expectations are much higher. On the whole, sadly I would not recommend this place but where do you go nowadays to get good facilities as so many have shut down or are over-crowded or sold out to the cheap gyms who don't offer pools. It's just a sign of the times in this Dickensian run down country, thanks to years of Tory austerity and unfair distribution of wealth, so the working class such as myself are left with very few choices.
