I had the opportunity to visit Clacton Leisure Centre with the person I support for a dance session, and it was a really positive experience. My guy had a great time listening to and dancing along to some well-known English songs. The instructor demonstrated simple and easy-to-follow dance steps for the group, and it was amazing to see how most participants joined in together. The sense of unity and inclusion among people who need extra support was truly heartwarming. All the staff were friendly, supportive, and interacted really well with everyone. The studio is spacious and can accommodate a large number of people comfortably. Clean indoor toilets were available, and there is plenty of parking outside the centre. Overall, it was a very good experience visiting the centre, and I would be happy to return again in the future.

The sports halls are clean, bright, and well-organised, with plenty of space for players and parents. 👏 Staff were friendly and helpful, everything ran on time, and the whole place felt safe and well-kept. 💪 The facilities are clearly looked after – a great environment for kids’ sports and community events. As Walton are revamping the poolside, we went to Clacton Leisure Centre. The swimming pool was lovely and clean, although the tiles are a little slippery. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The toilets need a little tlc but other than that, we will definitely be back. My grandchildren were very happy. Unfortunately the cafe wasn't open but hopefully that was just due to Christmas.
I didnt use the actual indoor facilities other than the loos. As I was there for a football game. That said the parking was horrendous. Not only that, they were actively giving vehicles parking tickets if not parked in a bay. I was lucky and got a bay. But many people I could see were not so lucky! Also the entrance to the leisure centre was mobbed by the healthy people...... smoking and creating a cloud of smoke for those that dont smoke to have to walk through. As they feel its their right to poison other people! Disgusting entrance area, litter and cigarette butt's. The footy pitches were not great but in comparison to the leisure centre they were good.
Visited Clacton and called to ask about dropping in to the gym. Was advised I’d need a one year ‘drop in’ membership @ £15.80 and each subsequent visit would be charged at c£8 I asked if the initial membership fee also covered the first gym session and was told ‘yes’ Drove down the next day only to be told I’d have to pay the membership fee + £8, so about £24 for one gym session. (I love in a city and some gyms offer a months membership with unlimited use for that. It’s annoying that there were mixed messages and a wasted trip but worse is that a town that relies heavily on tourism and visitors, hasn’t got a payment tier that encourages use. Practically every other gym or leisure centre offers a slightly higher rate for drop ins, making it cost effective for local members and viable for visitors.
