I switched to ghost town about 2 months and have really enjoyed it. The remodel is coming along great and the layout has greatly improved. Locally owned and operated, with some good "old school" equipment. I see a lot of the reviews give negative feedback about the membership? You can join month-to-month or sign a contract. I love that this gym is privately owned and operated. The owner Clay, is a likable guy and very accommodating. The gym is clean and well equipped. They aren't geared for a lot of volume yet, but their equipment is top notch. I have worked back and quads there and both workouts were spectacular. I am loving working out here. I highly recommend Ghost Town Fitness Center.
Im not a member currently, have made it down here for a few days passes. Place has that old school atmosphere. IRON PLATES! variety of machines.. free weight area is big enough. Cardio area is kinda small.. located upstairs of the facility. Staff is friendly, variety of people.. if your looking for a powerlifting/bodybuilding feel.. this place is awesome! Only reason I give it four stars.. price. Kinda expensive IMO.
It was not explained clearly up front that the membership locked you in for a year. The membership fee is also insanely expensive compared to most gyms in the area. If you try to cancel, they will charge you for the remaining payments. The facility is nice, and being open 24 hours is a good perk, but it's not anything special, pretty typical of any other gym. Again, I can not stress this enough, you can literally find another gym in the area for a third of the price that won't lock you into a year long commitment, or if they do, it's ten bucks a month and not thirty five.
I moved to the area with my bf and joined this gym. It was abusive relationship and needed to move back to milw so I asked to cancle my year contract. I only joined for 3 weeks. The woman at the front desk said it wasn't a problem but I now see they keep taking money out, I called and never got a call back and its been 2 weeks. I will be canceling my card so no more payments come out. Very disappointing the way this handled.
