F45 Training Cairns Inner West shows a perfect 5.0 from 42 reviews, and the five written ones span three years, from 2021 to 2024, with a common thread: several reviewers describe trying other approaches first and landing here as the thing that finally worked.

The Math on "Cheap" Gyms

Bruce Sexton's review makes the sharpest point on this page: "Joined several gyms in the past and just couldn't quite get motivated to go regularly. Seemed cheap to start with, but with missed sessions wasn't so cheap really. F45 is amazing. Highly motivated to attend - quick, sharp, effective 45 minute sessions at times that suit me." That's a real insight about how gym pricing actually works: a cheap membership you don't use costs more per workout than an expensive one you attend. He's not describing F45's price at all - he's describing what made him show up.

Two Comebacks, Different Reasons

Andrea Rolley, April 2021, describes returning to fitness after having a baby: "I was so nervous to sign up with a gym again after having a baby and not exercising for so long and being so out of shape. The coaches were so welcoming, friendly and supportive when I finally got the courage to walk through the door." She adds that she signed up eight months before writing the review and hasn't stopped, specifically naming the 5:50am class time as something the community made easier to show up for.

Elke Van Gorp, November 2024 - the newest written review here, and the only one from the last three years - describes a comeback after injury: "I did not do proper workouts for some years due to injury and then because of lack of motivation. However I now have motivation again. The trainers are really lovely and good." Different setbacks, three years apart, the same result: motivation returning once they started attending.

What a 55-Year-Old Beginner Found

Maria Dalziel, November 2021, is explicit about having tried other things first: "I am a semi-active 55 year old who has always hated gyms. For the past year I have been walking, running, cardio tennis and riding my road bike. I still didn't achieve the results I wanted. I have had 10 sessions at F45 and I felt a change after the 3rd session." She calls the format "nothing like a gym, more like a party with fitness thrown in" - useful framing if you associate "gym" with quiet rows of machines, because that's explicitly not what F45's group-circuit model is.

What the Perfect Score Is Measuring

5.0 from 42 total ratings is a small enough sample that a single dissatisfied member could move it meaningfully - one poor rating among 42 would still pull it well below perfect. That doesn't make the five written reviews less genuine; it just means a 5.0 here carries a different weight than a 5.0 on a listing with hundreds of ratings. The newest written review is from November 2024, nearly two years old now, so treat the picture as recent but not current.

What's Missing

No review states a membership price, despite Bruce Sexton's point being specifically about cost-per-use. No review describes the physical studio - size, equipment, changing facilities.

Who It's Not For

Anyone who wants a traditional weights floor rather than group circuit training - every reviewer describes a class-based, coached format. Anyone comparing exact prices, since none of the five reviews gives a figure.

FAQ

Is this a traditional gym or a class format?

A class format. Every written review describes coached, 45-minute group circuit sessions rather than independent gym-floor training.

Is it good for beginners or people returning after a break?

Yes, according to multiple reviewers describing comebacks after childbirth, injury, and long inactivity, all citing supportive coaching as the reason it worked when other attempts hadn't.

Is a cheaper gym membership actually a better deal?

One reviewer argues no, pointing out that a cheap membership with missed sessions costs more per workout than a pricier one he actually attends - worth thinking about before comparing gyms on sticker price alone.

How recent is the feedback?

The newest written review is from November 2024. The other four date to 2021, and Google's relative-time labels on this listing understate their age, so read every date here as absolute.

I am an semi active 55 year old who has always hated gyms. For the past year I have been walking, running, cardio tennis and riding my road bike. I still didn’t achieve the results I wanted. I have had 10 sessions at F45 and I felt a change after the 3rd session. The classes are fun, suitable for all abilities and the trainers are very professional. It’s nothing like a gym more like a party with fitness thrown in. The atmosphere is supportive, encouraging and I absolutely love the short circuit work. They play the best music, just right to get you into the zone. Highly recommend for anyone wanted to improve overall health and fitness.

I was so nervous to sign up with a gym again after having a baby and not exercising for so long and being so out of shape. The coaches were so welcoming, friendly and supportive when I finally got the courage to walk through the door.. :) I signed up 8 months ago and haven't looked back. Everyone is so supportive and friendly - which makes it a bit easier to get to the 5:50am workouts! Highly recommend and worth it!
