Acroyogathai - Gym in Barcelona, Spain

Spain

If you came here looking for a weight room, adjust your expectations first. AcroYoga Thai in the Gracia district of Barcelona is a yoga and acroyoga studio, not a lifting gym. The listing carries "fitness_center" and "sports_complex" tags, but every single review talks about mats, breathing, partner acrobatics and a teacher named Lucas. Nobody mentions a squat rack. So let me set the frame before you drive across the city expecting one.

What the reviews actually describe

The strongest signal here is consistency of subject. Four of the five visible reviews are about classes led by the same instructor. One member wrote in November 2021 that "Lucas Yoga classes are great. His knowledge and attention to every aspect of the practice, physical, mental and spiritual, are fundamental to improve my understanding of Yoga." Another, in January 2022, said "this is the place in Barcelona that I've liked the most. It's the way Lucas leads the classes, the pace, the great atmosphere he creates in the group." Back in May 2017 someone called it "probably the best hatha yoga in Barcelona with Lucas."

That's a clear picture. This is a personality-led studio. You're buying access to one teacher's method, hatha and acroyoga, in a small group setting. When a place runs on a single instructor, the average rating is really a rating of that person. I'd weigh it that way.

Where a critical voice sits

Not every note is glowing, and the honest one is worth reading. In March 2019 a student who took the teacher-training course wrote about the residential program in Kerala, India, not the Barcelona room: "In my opinion, it is not properly organized, there are lots of misunderstandings and sometimes unexpected bad vibres. Not enough food for the exercise and quite inbalance." They still ended on a fair note, saying that "to practice basic acrobatics by the beach for a decent price, that's fine."

Here's my read. A teacher-training retreat abroad is a different product from a drop-in class in Gracia. If you're weighing the local classes, that complaint is about logistics of an overseas course, not the Barcelona atmosphere everyone else praises. Keep the two separate in your head.

What this average measures

The rating sits at 4.5 across only 11 reviews. That's a small sample, so do the math before you trust it. With 11 ratings, a single one-star review would drag the whole thing down toward 4.1. One quiet three-star note from March 2023 ("large space and atmosphere for meditation") already sits in there. A number this thin moves fast. Treat it as a hint, not a verdict.

What's missing

No review states a class price, a schedule, or a membership structure. The 2019 note mentions "a decent price" for the retreat, and that's the only money reference in the whole record, and it's about the wrong product. Nobody confirms drop-in rates versus a course package. If those matter to you, and they should, the phone number on the listing will answer them faster than I can guess.

Who it's not for

Anyone chasing machines, a cardio floor, or a self-serve gym membership should look elsewhere. This is guided practice, partner-based, teacher-driven. If you don't want to be corrected mid-pose or work with a partner, that's a mismatch.

FAQ

Is AcroYoga Thai a regular gym?

No. Despite the fitness tags on its listing, the reviews describe yoga, hatha and acroyoga classes led by an instructor. There's no mention of a weights floor or gym equipment.

Does the rating reflect the Barcelona classes?

Mostly yes. Four of five reviews praise the local classes and teacher. The one critical review is about a separate teacher-training course held in Kerala, India, not the Gracia studio.

Are prices listed?

No. No review states class rates or membership terms. Call the studio to confirm current pricing and the timetable.

Although I've tried different types of yoga before, this is the place in Barcelona that I've liked the most. It's the way Lucas leads the classes, the pace, the great atmosphere he creates in the group, and the attention he gives to everyone. Highly recommended.

Lucas Yoga classes are great. His knowledge and attention to every aspect of the practice, physical, mental and spiritual, are fundamental to improve my understanding of Yoga and a motivation to become a better human being. In the Acro yoga classes there are people from all levels, making them a little bit easier for beginners like me to understand the technics. Lucas an Maria experience are incredible and I can't wait for the next class. Namastê!

I started the Teacher training course at the community in Kerala (India). In my opinion, it is not properly organized, there are lots of misunderstandings and sometimes unexpected bad vibres. Not enough food for the exercise and quite inbalance. We were living in a home stay with a cute and beatiful Indian family that gave us the true Oriental point of view of life. But at the end to practice basic acrobatics by the beach for a decent price, that's fine. Btw they made a book quite nice for learning.
