I've visited Colets a few times, and it's exceeded expectations. The gym has recently been refurbished too and offers top-notch facilities, including a great pool and a wide range of classes. What really stands out is the warm, friendly atmosphere - it feels like a real community. It's clean and not crowded, and has lovely big grounds with plenty of parking. Plus, their café/bar is excellent - great coffee, food, and drinks. Definitely a local gem

Colets is enough to drive anyone to the edge. I've rejoined because I live on the road and there's no better options. The reality is that all gym's are a nightmare nowadays so what can you do? Colets is crowded and trying to get a booking for any of the studio sessions is a similar feeling to smashing your head repeatedly into a brick wall.

I went to join Colets health and fitness. The lady at the desk was really unwelcoming and well, rude. Me or my wife won’t be joining. Management please give them some customer service training.

I’ve been a member here for a year, and during that time there have been constant disruptions: repeated closures of the sauna and steam rooms, inconsistent pool temperatures, leaks and repair works that shut down parts of the facility for long periods, and regular class interruptions. For much of the year, the services available didn’t match what was being paid for. Despite all of this, our renewal price has been increased. I contacted management about the decision but received no response. When I raised the issue at reception, I was told: “Why should you pay less when everyone else is paying the higher price?” What’s missing from this approach is any recognition that existing members have carried the burden of a year’s worth of works, while new members now join and enjoy the improved facilities without having experienced any of the disruption. It would be reasonable to expect some variation in pricing to reflect the difference in what each group has received, but this hasn’t been considered. The issue isn’t just the price rise, but the way the situation has been handled. There has been no acknowledgement of the impact on long-standing members and no goodwill gesture despite a year of reduced access and repeated closures. I can appreciate that facilities sometimes need improving, but the communication and handling of member concerns over the past year have been disappointing. These improvements were not part of the offering when we signed up, and with an annual membership we were effectively stuck with a building site instead of the premium experience we were sold. What’s more, during my visit today it appeared that some of the moisture issues upstairs may not have been fully resolved, even after the recent ventilation upgrades. I also noticed areas of exposed wood that looked in poor condition. Based on this, I wouldn’t be surprised if further repair work ends up being required.
