Optimum Power & Fitness is on Welikada Road in Colombo. It holds a 4.7 rating from 82 Google reviews, and the record is current, with a review from June 2026.
The Best Review Is About A Bad Day
A member in June 2026: "Recently my wife and I joined, and on her second day she experienced pain in her leg. The coach took great care of her by helping with stretching exercises, ensuring she was okay, and providing encouragement and motivation throughout."
Second day, leg pain, coach stopped and dealt with it.
That's the most useful thing on this page, and it's more informative than any equipment list. How a gym behaves when something goes wrong tells you what you're buying. Plenty of places would have let her limp off.
He's a brand-new member describing his second visit, so he has no loyalty to defend. That makes it worth more, not less.
It's A Bodybuilding Gym
A member in December 2022: "This is the best place if you want to transform your body and understand what the real bodybuilding is. Friendly culture with highly educated and top class coaches in the field will take care of your targets. Only you have to tell them what you want and follow their instructions. At the end of the day let your mirror show the meaning of the word quality work."
"Understand what real bodybuilding is" sets the tone. So does the instruction: tell them your goal, then follow the programme.
A member in December 2022: "One of the best places to break a sweat. Most disciplined crowd ever. Love the staff and the trainers are very knowledgeable."
"Most disciplined crowd ever" is a description of the room, and it's either the reason to go or the reason not to.
What's Actually Offered
A member in July 2019 gives the only inventory anyone provides: "They have the regular weight training, aerobic sessions and crossfit sessions. Good supportive community and reasonable prices."
Weights, aerobics, CrossFit. And "reasonable prices," which is the only pricing signal here and names no figure. It's also seven years old.
Notice that nobody says whether CrossFit costs extra. I've seen gyms in this directory charge separately for it, so that's worth asking rather than assuming.
The Sunday Catch
Monday to Saturday, 06:00 to 22:00. Sunday, 06:00 to 14:00.
Sixteen hours a day for six days is generous, and a 06:00 start suits anyone working. Sunday shuts at 14:00, which is the one thing to note: if Sunday afternoon is your session, it isn't there.
The Sample
Eighty-two ratings, five written reviews. Three of those five were posted in December 2022, within days of each other, which is a cluster. One is from 2019 and one from June 2026.
So the record has a warm burst three and a half years ago, a very old review, and one recent account. The 4.7 across 82 people is a decent signal; the words behind it are thinner than the number suggests.
Every visible review is five stars while the average is 4.7, which means a handful of people rated it lower without explaining. At 4.7 on 82 ratings that gap is small, and I'd take the number at close to face value.
Who It's Not For
Anyone who wants to be left alone with their own programme. Two members describe being coached toward a target and following instructions.
