The guys at Miyagi Kan Karate are amazing!! My son has a short leg and has had operations so the exercises can be challenging. The instructors don’t baby him but encourage and support him getting the hang of things. Couldn’t be happier

I trained at Miyagi Kan for about 2 years and had one of the worst experiences, where I felt money came before student learning and growth. I started training full time at the main dojo in Revesby instead of the dojo in my local suburb (where I was a student for 20 months) because it better suited my goals of becoming a black belt. The Sensei at my local suburb dojo threw such a big fuss to the head Sensei of the club teaching at Revesby, that he was losing money with students transferring to the main dojo. As a result, I was ignored during training sessions at the main dojo, excluded from being coached and forced to change my membership back to the other dojo. Worst part was that neither of the Senseis had the courage to speak with me directly about this and instead used the club administrator to relay the message. I decided to leave the dojo. This type of behaviour is totally unacceptable and goes against the true spirit of karate.
