Great value for money gym located just off the spider Island in Derby. The studios are huge and have a great atmosphere when the classes are busy. The gym is also well equipmented and have lots of functional equipment. The charging rooms have a nice little sauna inside, useful after a workout. Car park can be busy, especially on market days.
A great gym, especially for the price! It’s massive space with excellent ventilation. EVERYTHING WORKS and there’s multiples of most of the equipment. The studio is also huge and there’s plenty of Parking space. You’ll need to bring a padlock for the lockers and there’s a vending machine with a few drinks. Loving the Sauna, it’s honestly the icing on the cake.
Good gym but some equipment mysteriously went missing such as some heavier dumbells (38 and 40 are nowhere to be seen), toilets are usually clean, friendly staff and people, worth the price
“I’ve been coming to JD gym in Derby for a while, but the steam/sauna has been out of order for more than 7 days and still hasn’t been fixed. Paying full membership fees while important facilities stay closed for so long is disappointing. People should know this before joining.”
TIn Derby they started saving on air conditioning which is turned on at the absolute minimum. This causes you to immediately feel the stench of sweat, stuffiness, and not fresh air after entering the gym, which makes you feel nauseous and makes you want to vomit. I do not recommend joining this gym, especially during the summer months.
