David Lloyd Poole

I have been a member of David Lloyd (previously Virgin) for 6 years. The gym recently had a be refurbishment, and I cannot fault the equipment, atmosphere or layout. The classes I do are brilliant, with the latest Stages cycling class and Blaze being my favourite. If you get chance you must try both of these classes! The only bad points are sometimes the showers are lacking shower gels, which can only be resolved by more frequent janitor visits during the peak times. The food service is good, but during peaks times you can be waiting a while for food.

I have been a member for around 18mths now and it is by far the best gym around for overall facilities. The new refurbed gym (May19) is awesome!! I look forward to each and every session I go to and love the steam room and Jacuzzi afterwards! A very social place to be and the food is spot on as well :) I highly recommend it.... it may cost a little more than most other gyms but you get what you pay for in this case!

The after care sales team in David Lloyd Poole, seriously need to re-look at there job spec..rude, with a big ‘don’t give a shit’ ‘computer says no’ attitude.. Not once have I spoken to any of them without completely giving up.. roll on some local gym competition so we can all spend our money elsewhere.

As mentioned before by others, customer service is rubbish (Apart from Hannah, she was lovely). Also, renovations have started a month ago and the whole top floor has been closed and moved into the tennis court and is a complete mess and the whole experience resembles that of a £9/month gym. You’d think they would at least halve members monthly payments due to the inconvenience, however I’ve just received an email to say that it’s increasing by £30!

It’s a nice place if you hate money. Facilities are nice, as are the staff in the club, but they won’t let me leave my contract even though they miss-sold me the membership and lied to me. Spend half the money and get a better gym, would be my recommendation
