M48 Wellness Lab shows 4.8/5 from 17 reviews, and its five written reviews, spanning 2017 to 2024, describe a personal-training studio rather than an open-floor gym, with two reviewers naming specific coaches and one detail worth flagging directly before anything else: two of the most detailed reviews describe a "Prince Edward" branch, while this listing's address is on Cheung Shun Street in Cheung Sha Wan, a different area of Hong Kong.

A Branch Discrepancy Worth Confirming Before Visiting

I'd flag this as the most important fact on this page. A reviewer named CC and a second reviewer named Lulu both describe training at "M48 Wellness Lab in Prince Edward," a specific area of Hong Kong, while the address on this listing is in Cheung Sha Wan. It's possible this business operates more than one branch and these two reviewers happened to visit a different one, or the address on record has changed. Either way, I wouldn't assume the coaches and specifics named in those two reviews apply to the Cheung Sha Wan address without confirming directly first.

A Detailed Account of Personalized Strength Coaching

CC's review, from mid-2021, describes a personal training session in detail: the coach, named Perrie, asked about her lifestyle habits and target areas before the session, demonstrated each exercise first while explaining target muscles and breathing technique, and structured a session around Smith machine squats, split squats, seated rowing, resistance ball crunches, and planks, pushed to the point of real muscle fatigue. I'd note that structured, coach-led exercise sequence directly, since it describes a genuine training methodology rather than a vague claim of good coaching.

A Detailed Account of Personal Training Aimed at a Specific Goal

Lulu's review, from the same period, describes signing up for personal training specifically to learn correct exercise form ahead of a birthday goal, working with a trainer named Takako who focused on back-muscle work, explained equipment use, and corrected form errors in real time. I'd flag that immediate form-correction detail directly, since Lulu's review specifically frames it as preventing wasted training and injury, not just as general attentiveness.

Two Additional, Briefer Accounts

Tony Lam's review, from 2024, describes a "clean and comfortable" space with staff who are "professional and attentive" and don't pressure sales. An older review from Ray Tsoi, from 2018, is more mixed: he calls it "a good place for training" with helpful coaches, but notes there's no shower on site, adding that this is fine only if you live nearby.

What's Missing

No review states current pricing for personal training sessions. Nothing here confirms whether coaches Perrie and Takako are still on staff, since their reviews date to 2021, and nothing resolves the Prince Edward versus Cheung Sha Wan branch question definitively.

Who It's Not For

Anyone looking for an open-floor gym with independent equipment access, since every review here describes coach-led personal training specifically. Anyone who needs an on-site shower, since at least one reviewer specifically notes there isn't one.

FAQ

Is this a gym?

Not in the open-floor sense. Every written review describes coach-led personal training rather than independent equipment access.

Which branch do the detailed reviews describe?

This is unclear. Two of the five written reviews specifically describe a Prince Edward branch, while this listing's address is in Cheung Sha Wan, so I'd confirm the branch directly before booking.

Who are the named coaches?

Perrie and Takako are each named directly in separate detailed reviews from 2021, though neither review confirms current staffing.

Is there a shower on site?

According to at least one reviewer specifically, no, though he notes this is a minor issue if you live nearby.

The place is clean and comfortable, with ample fitness equipment. The coaches are professional and attentive, and don't try to sell you anything.

Eating so much food eventually has to pay off 🥲 🏃🏻‍♀️ I went to M48 Wellness Lab in Prince Edward to find Coach Perrie to help me with my training. At the beginning, during my warm-up run, he asked me about my lifestyle habits and what areas I wanted to improve. I mentioned wanting to improve my back, hips, and buttocks, and the coach immediately said no problem! 👍🏻 The coach demonstrates each exercise first, explaining the target areas, key points for exertion, breathing techniques, etc. 🦾 Any questions can be asked immediately! ✋🏻 The coach says it's only effective if you push yourself to exhaustion! 🤯 I do 15-20 reps per set, 2-3 repetitions per set. Sometimes the coach even adds a few more reps for me! 😣 It's really tiring but also very satisfying! 🥰 You can see how hard I worked from the video! 🤪 I did these sets in total: 1️⃣ Smith machine squats 2️⃣ Split squats 3️⃣ Seated rowing machine (wide grip) Narrow grip 4️⃣ Resistance ball crunches 5️⃣ Plank Back home, I was completely exhausted 🥳 and even had delayed onset muscle soreness on the second day 🤪 My thighs were sore from climbing stairs 🤣 My back didn't feel like it though, my sister said she didn't know how to engage her back muscles 🥲 But that didn't stop me from continuing with a 3-hour Aerial Hoop + Aerial Hammock class 🤸🏻‍♀️ 😴 After two days of rest, I was fine; my muscles recovered and became stronger. This is a normal process for building muscle and increasing strength ❤️

I've been working out hard lately, hoping to get abs as a birthday present for my 36th birthday. But I'm working out at home and don't know how to do the exercises correctly. When I learned about M48WellnessLab's "PERSONAL TRAINING" service, I immediately rushed to try it! "PERSONAL TRAINING" is a fitness training service provided by a personal trainer. 👍 Tailor-made sessions tailored to each student's fitness goals, lifestyle, exercise progress, and dietary habits. 👍 One-on-one instruction with a trainer. The branch in Prince Edward is spacious and comfortable, with a wide variety of training equipment and friendly staff. My personal trainer is Takako, who's incredibly fit. Knowing I wanted to focus on my back and back muscles, she not only professionally explained the equipment and how to use it, but also immediately corrected any errors in my form. Mistakes can lead to wasted training and even muscle strain, so it's a must-do!
