A great place to launch a boat or just to visit. This is the homestead of the old BEASLEY Place. This launch area is on the river and connects to lake Fontana. Beautiful peaceful area. There is even a pavilion with a roof you can have a picnic. The restroom is always open. Lots of parking for cars, trucks and boat trailers. You can even swim in this nice clean water. Whether you want to launch you kayak, boat or pontoon this place is worth a visit. The place maybe closed during the winter.
The Old 288 Boat Ramp park is very nice. The boat launch is large and the parking area offer space for a lot of vehicles. The bathrooms are outhouse style and are a little dirty. There is a nice covered deck with picnic tables to sit and enjoy the river. There is a plaque commemorating, The Historical Homesite of Zack Beasley.” The stairs to the original home are this there with a chain link fence around it. There are trails at the back of the parking area if you want to hike. Years ago they had a sign stating that dogs must be kept on a leash. The sign is no longer there so I am assuming dogs are no longer allowed. The road driving out to the ramp is paved, but is narrow and windy, without a shoulder.
Great trails and lovely small waterfall
Nice relaxing place to bring your dog. I don't have a boat to launch. Nice covered pavilion. Nice large parking lot. Has a few hiking trails, one to a waterfall with wildflowers along the way.
