Fitness Maxos Gym Castillo

Spain

One review here does the work of a whole tour, so I'll lead with it. A visitor who trained for a week in January 2026 laid out the whole place: "1 floor, good mix Cardio, Free weight, machines, in peak time you might need some patience, since there is mostly only 1 of everything... but found everything I needed, in good condition." That's the honest picture of Fitness Maxos Gym Castillo in Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura - one floor, well stocked, occasionally a queue.

What this actually is

This is a real, staffed gym at C. Jesus y Maria 17, open early and late: Monday to Friday 06:00-22:00 and Saturday 09:00-14:00, closed Sundays. Google lists it as a sports_complex and sports_school. The same detailed reviewer handed over the numbers no one else does: "20 Euro/week, 5 Euro/day." Those are drop-in and short-stay rates, useful if you're a tourist on the island rather than a local signing a year. And there's a franchise wrinkle worth understanding.

The franchise detail that trips people up

That January 2026 review notes: "Sundays closed, but you could train at the other franchise more south then for free." Read that carefully. It's a plus, but it points at how franchises work - your access is tied to the branch's arrangement, not automatic across every location that shares the name. Here it happens to swing in your favor on Sundays. Elsewhere, the same structure is why people get surprised that a membership at one branch doesn't open the door at another. If cross-branch access matters to you, that's the question to ask up front, not after you've paid.

Where the voices agree

The staff draw repeat praise. One member thanked them plainly - "very friendly and helpful staff. Thanks for the straps" (July 2022) - and the week-long visitor singled out that "the trainers actually walk around, correct and help people, or just have a chat... which makes the gym even more homey." A November 2019 reviewer went to see "Rachel the sports masseuse and she was excellent," so there's on-site massage too. The recurring note is a friendly, hands-on floor rather than a hands-off big box.

What that average is measuring

The 4.5 rests on 106 ratings, a decent sample, so the number carries real weight. The written reviews skew five-star and short - "good staff and gym" (August 2024) is typical - while the detailed ones give you the texture. One useful caveat came straight from a happy visitor: at peak times there's "mostly only 1 of everything," so expect to wait during rush hours. He also noted the crowd was roughly "15% ladies" but that the atmosphere still "felt super comfortable." That's a specific read you can weigh against your own preferences.

What's missing

The short-stay prices are on record, but no review states a monthly or annual membership rate, which is what a local would actually want. Hot showers get a thumbs-up, but there's no detail on lockers or changing facilities beyond that. The listed website is a Facebook page, so the cleanest way to confirm current pricing and the Sunday sister-branch arrangement is a call to +34 928 70 25 12.

Who it's not for

If you need multiples of every machine so you never wait, a compact one-floor gym with single stations will annoy you at peak hours. And if you want Sunday training at this exact address, you'll be driving south to the other branch instead.

FAQ

How much does it cost?

Reviews cite 20 Euro per week and 5 Euro per day for short stays. No monthly membership price is stated, so confirm that directly.

What are the opening hours?

Monday to Friday 06:00-22:00 and Saturday 09:00-14:00. It's closed Sundays, though a reviewer says the branch further south lets you train free that day.

Is it busy?

At peak times, yes - a visitor warned there's often only one of each machine, so you may need patience. Off-peak he found it comfortable.

Are the staff helpful?

That's the most consistent praise. Multiple reviewers describe trainers who walk the floor, correct form, and help out, plus an on-site sports masseuse.

Trained here for 1 week (January 26) > AWESOME 1 floor, good mix Cardio, Free weight, machines, in peak time you might need some patience, since there is mostly only 1 of everything... but found everything I needed, in good condition. Ca. 15% ladies, but still felt super comfortable, the atmosphere is super friendly and familiar. The trainers actually walk around, correct and help people, or just have a chat (haven't seen that in ages in other gyms) which makes the gym even more homey. Shout out to the trainers Cuba, Adila and Pablo, for your help and your endurance with my Spanish ;-) The hot showers were also a plus. 20 Euro/week 5 Euro/day Sundays closed, but you could train at the other franchise more south then for free
