I have been a member of this club on and off since construction, so many many years. I have never been spoken to so rudely as I was today. I booked the function room a few months ago now for my grandsons Christening and was told that the room was free it the club catered for the event or if you paid £200.00 you could have your own caterers. When this discussion was held my two daughters were present, and we proceeded to book the room for next Sunday. This afternoon my caterer called at the club to check it out as she was also going to dress the room. She was told that we hadn't booked it and put me on to speak to Megan floor / room manager who basically tried to tell me what one of her colleagues had said and that what I was saying was not true. This conversation happened whilst I was driving on loud speaker, my daughter mother of the baby was present and was in absolute shock that at this late stage were were being barked at by the manager Megan, who had absolutely no consideration for the panic that she had just caused. The lack of understanding empathy and professionalism was disgraceful, her unhelpful attitude and way to resolute our situation was no existent. One very unhappy member. Christine Barry.

Everything about this health club is a big ‘NO’. Every time I’ve been in there - as a member or before I became a member (as a guest to meet a friend for coffee) I have found the staff to be mostly unhelpful. Even when I was signing up to join as a member I felt like the person was going through the motions and couldn’t really be bothered explaining everything in full to Me. The facilities are very old fashioned with limited services and in desperate need of updating especially the changing rooms - they haven’t been changed since it was the Lancashire 20 years ago! The cafe serves drab, soggy food and coffee that is more akin to dishwater and they charge an extortionate amount for it (don’t be fooled by the ‘member discount’.) The classes I’ve tried are also not of the best standard - definitely not comparable to the boutique gyms in the wider area which have more dedicated and enthusiastic instructors who charge half the price! Not sure if this is typical of all David Lloyd’s or if this is one of the forgotten clubs but save your money and go to another health club / boutique gym with classes!

Had to tap 1 star as it will not post with NO stars, made an appointment with the gym 2 days ago with an interest in joining went there with my wife at the allotted date and time only to be told there was no appointment for us, would we like to make another appointment or call back later, er NO, don’t waste my time, the manager should sort these things out so the place runs smoother at reception, anyone reading this and is thinking of joining, DONT BOTHER

Very rude life guard! We went to swim today with Muslim swimming suit. The life guard stopped us to swim and did not let us swim and had very rude language. She was keep giving us dirty look. We came out of swimming pool and tried to use the jacuzzi. She followed us and again said : " you did not shower and can not use jacuzzi " Again with rude language. It was few other people which just came out from swimming pool with us and went to jacuzzi and she did not say any thing to them. I felt intimidated and discriminated as Muslim. I just signed up for 12 months contract with them. Never thought it's going to be so bad I will try to cancel my contract and even if they don't cancel will not go back again
This should really be called David Lloyd's Childrens Club. Don't join if you expect to get courts or use the pool between the hours of 6-8pm and on the weekends. They seem to be reserved for children only.
