This is one coach, not a gym floor

Read the reviews and one name shows up in every single one: Brandon. Real World Strength isn't a room full of machines you badge into - it's personal training built around a single coach, and the listing's own category ("service") backs that up. If you're picturing a place to wander in and lift on your own schedule, that's not what people are describing here.

The clearest account came from a client in March 2025: "As a 57 year old woman, my needs were to gain muscle mass while learning to work out with free weights. Having always been a cyclist, I didn't know my way around a weight gym." She'd planned "to work with a trainer for only a few months," but wrote that "this has been a very positive experience that I intend to continue."

Where the voices agree

The theme is customization. A client in June 2024 wrote that "his plans are always customized to the client's fitness goals, any limitations they're dealing with, and what they like or don't like to do in a workout." Another, in May 2024, said his programming was tailored "around my climbing, mountaineering, and search and rescue lifestyle." A December 2025 reviewer added, "his tips on form, nutrition, and programming are invaluable," and called the pricing "super fair."

Injuries come up more than once as a point in the coach's favor. A May 2025 client said that after getting hurt in another hobby, "Brandon did some extra research and re-tailored my program to help prevent similar injuries in the future." When two separate people praise the same thing, I read it as a real pattern, not a fluke.

What that 5.0 measures

Five stars across ten ratings is a small sample. Do the math: one honest one-star review would drop this to roughly 4.6. So the number is fragile by nature - not fake, just thin. What it's really measuring is a selective service. People who hire a one-on-one coach, stick with him for months, and then write a review are a self-selected group. You're not reading a cross-section of a busy gym. You're reading clients who already committed.

What's missing

No review states an exact rate - "super fair" isn't a number. The listing shows hours of 6am to noon, Monday through Friday, which reads like a coach's session window rather than open gym access. Confirm pricing, session length, and whether there's any self-guided access by calling +1 240-548-7054 or checking realworldstrengthtraining.com.

Who it's not for

Want to train solo on your own clock, nights and weekends, without a coach in your ear? This isn't set up for that. It's for someone who wants structured, one-on-one programming and is fine paying for the attention. If you already know your way around a barbell and just want a key to the door, look elsewhere.

I highly recommend training with Brandon. His pricing is super fair, and his tips on form, nutrition, and programming are invaluable. After a few failed efforts at getting into the gym on my own, Brandon’s help has finally given me the momentum and direction I needed to start seeing progress. He combines his deep knowledge of biology and exercise science with years of experience training hard for the military and strongman competitions to create a training philosophy that will have you moving better, pushing yourself, and understanding exercise in a much deeper way. Regardless of how much experience you have or what type of training you are interested in, Brandon is a super nice guy who will give you thoughtful, personalized help.

Brandon has been really great to work with. We spent a fair amount of time building a solid foundation and now I'm seeing meaningful results, both in the gym and in real life. Along the way, I had injuries from another hobby of mine. Brandon did some extra research and re-tailored my program to help prevent similar injuries in the future. He is very knowledgeable, scientific, and thoughtful about how to best improve. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to improve their strength, health, and lifestyle!

I started training with Brandon at Real World Strength five months ago. As a 57 year old woman, my needs were to gain muscle mass while learning to work out with free weights. Having always been a cyclist, I didn’t know my way around a weight gym. My workouts with Brandon are challenging, educational, exhausting and change up regularly. Brandon is very knowledgable about human anatomy as well as nutrition and is always happy to discuss any questions I bring to a session. My intention was to work with a trainer for only a few months, but this has been a very positive experience that I intend to continue.

I highly recommend Brandon as a personal trainer. I have been training with Brandon for nearly a year to get in shape for my wedding, and it has been a great experience. Brandon is very knowledgeable and passionate about training, and he truly cares about his clients. Not only does Brandon come prepared to every session, but his plans are always customized to the client’s fitness goals, any limitations they’re dealing with, and what they like or don’t like to do in a workout. Over the past year, I’ve been blown away with the results I’ve seen, goals I’ve accomplished, and how consistent I’ve been in training. I credit all of that to working with Brandon.

I couldn't recommend Real World Strength more. Brandon has been coaching me for about four months, and I can noticeably tell the difference in strength and overall health. He has been able to write me workout plans focused on my lifestyle demands. Brandon was able to tailor my workouts around my climbing, mountaineering, and search and rescue lifestyle to help keep me prepared and physically fit. When I have questions, he goes into depth and gives reasons for each exercise so that I can understand what part I'm working on and how it will help me better. Again, I highly highly recommend Real World Fitness!
