The complaint worth reading is about the music

With 760 reviews, the loudest signal at PureGym Coventry Skydome isn't a rave, it's a specific, useful two-star from February 2026. The reviewer likes the place ("Good range of equipment and really nice women's only space") but names one deal breaker: during the 6pm classes, "it gets to the volume of a club or rave. Can't hear my own music at all or even chat with a friend. It totally ruins my workout." Their verdict: "if this doesn't change I'll be looking for a new gym." That's a member telling you the exact hour and the exact reason they might leave. If you train around 6pm and hate loud rooms, that's your heads-up, and it's worth more than any five-star.

What this place actually is

This is a 24-hour, no-contract PureGym in Coventry city centre, at the Skydome, rated 4.3 across 760 reviews. That's a big book, so the number is real and stable. The 24-hour access comes up as a genuine plus: one January 2026 review notes "since it's a 24 hour gym, there is no congestion," and another 2026 review sells it as "affordable, no-contract memberships."

The review that does my job

A January 2025 member counted the equipment so you don't have to: "plenty of Squat racks (7) and bench presses (2). Very heavy Dumbells and many many machines," plus "Lots of treadmills, stairmasters, elliptical" and "a functional weight training area." They add practical advice: "There is almost no need ever to queue for a machine," but "try going at off peak when there is less crowd." When a reviewer hands you rack counts and a crowd tip, that's the one to trust.

Where the voices agree, and clash

Most reviews praise the staff and the kit. A June 2026 member had a first PT session and called the gym "well-equipped" and the session "professional." But the crowding note recurs: the same two-star above says "it often gets crowded so its hard to find a spot," and a January 2026 four-star agrees it "can get busy during peak times." So the picture is consistent: good gear, friendly staff, genuinely busy at peak, and, for at least one member, too loud during evening classes.

What the 4.3 measures

At 760 reviews, a 4.3 is honest and hard to fake either direction. It says most members are satisfied but not uniformly delighted, and the written reviews match: strong equipment, real peak-time crowding, one persistent noise complaint. Big samples like this measure the median experience well, so treat 4.3 as a fair read, not a lukewarm one.

What's missing

No review quotes the actual monthly price, only that it's "affordable" and no-contract. Nobody confirms exactly which hours the loud classes run beyond that "6pm" note. Those are worth checking on the PureGym site before you join.

Who it's not for

If you need a quiet floor during early evening, the class music may bother you. If you train at peak times and hate waiting, expect crowds. Off-peak, the equipment depth looks strong.

Is PureGym Coventry Skydome open 24 hours?

Yes. Multiple 2026 reviews describe 24-hour access and no-contract membership, with one member noting less congestion because of the round-the-clock hours.

Does it get crowded?

Reviewers say it can get busy at peak times, though one notes there's rarely a need to queue thanks to multiple machines. Off-peak visits are recommended.

How much does membership cost?

No review states the exact price, only that it's affordable and contract-free. Check current rates on the PureGym website.

I would be very likely to recommend PureGym to a friend or colleague. The personal trainer gave me a great tour of the gym, and I had my first PT session with Maciej. I was very impressed with how well-equipped the gym is and the session was delivered professionally and in a very friendly manner. I was extremely satisfied with the whole experience.

I love Coventry Skydome PureGym as it is a friendly gym. People mind their own business. They don't discriminate in any way. Everyone is welcome. There is equipment to suit any body. The staff are approachable and I guess they can support you if you need any help. There is enough equipment for every member. You can join a gym class if you need some motivation. Since it's a 24 hour gym, there is no congestion. The place is clean and staff clean the equipment throughout the day. There are some promotions that run throughout the year such as members can bring their own friends. They also share recipes to help you to help you with healthy eating. I would recommend Skydome Gym to anyone who wants to join a gym.

Great Gym. You will find all the equipments you need to train almost every single muscle you have. They have plenty of Squat racks (7) and bench presses (2). Very heavy Dumbells and many many machines. There is almost no need ever to queue for a machine as there are 2 or 3 machines spread around. Lots of treadmills, stairmasters, elliptical, machines and a functional weight training area too. There's a seperate space for streching and stuff, but try going at off peak when there is less crowd. Gym Coaches are great and they are friendly, always happy to help you. Overall I will miss it when I move abroad.

24‑hour gym with a wide range of equipment and affordable, no‑contract memberships. The facility has a good variety of machines and free fitness classes, and the staff are generally friendly. It can get busy during peak times and occasionally some equipment is in high demand, but overall it’s a solid choice for regular workouts in the city centre.

A pretty good gym with some room for improvement. Good range of equipment and really nice women's only space. The only issue is that it often gets crowded so its hard to find a spot. Plentiful, although outdated, cardio machines. Clean and friendly. My main complaint with the gym is that the music can get way too loud during the 6pm classes. They normally have some background music which is fine as it's easy to block out with headphones, but during the classes it gets to the volume of a club or rave. Can't hear my own music at all or even chat with a friend. It totally ruins my workout. I get that its nice for the people doing the class to have music but it really doesn't need to be that loud. Given that music taste is so personal its spoiling the experience for most gym users for the sake of 5 or so people in the class who might enjoy it. Unfortunately if this doesn't change I'll be looking for a new gym, it really is a deal breaker for me.
