Fitness First Platinum RCBC is on the third floor of RCBC Plaza Tower 2, on Ayala Avenue in Makati. It holds a 4.1 rating from 65 Google reviews.
The record stopped in October 2019. Everything below describes the club as it stood before the pandemic, which for a Makati business-district gym is a lifetime ago. Read it as history and verify anything that matters.
Somebody Listed What Went Missing
The most useful review is the only critical one, from a member in February 2019, three stars: "This gym has been lacking so much now, the jacuzzi is gone, no sauna, cold swimming pool (23 degrees C!) where a heated pool is more sought after. So much space for free work-out although most gymgoers are obviously crowding the machines!"
A jacuzzi removed, no sauna, and a pool at 23 degrees.
That's a specific number, and it's the sort of thing that decides whether a "Platinum" tier is worth its premium. Twenty-three degrees is bracing for lengths and unpleasant for anything leisurely. Whether it's been heated since, I've no idea.
Note the tension with another member. In December 2018, a member wrote: "There is even a pool in the second floor." Enthusiastic. Two months later another member is complaining it's cold. Both can be true.
What The Platinum Tier Bought In 2019
A member in August 2019 gives the fullest inventory: "Plenty of equipment, lot of dumbbells set for men, rpm, boxing room, lot of cycling and treadmill, many different course yoga, body pump etc, swimming pool rarely crowded, hammam, and staff very smiley. I even see someone hoovering the ceiling in the toilet, this is how they care a lot about hygiene."
Someone vacuuming a toilet ceiling. I like that detail because nobody invents it, and it tells you more about standards than any adjective.
Boxing room, RPM, yoga, Body Pump, a hammam, and a pool that's rarely busy. That's a full-facility club.
Note that "hammam" sits oddly against the February 2019 member saying there's no sauna. A hammam is a steam room rather than a dry sauna, so both statements can hold at once, but if a sauna matters to you, that's the question to ask.
Two Things Worth Knowing
A member in December 2018: "Classes are free and are a part of the membership fees."
Classes included rather than charged separately. At a premium-tier club that's what you'd hope for, but plenty of gyms in this directory charge extra, so it's worth noting.
And a visitor in January 2019, four stars, found something genuinely unusual: "Surprising that they lend you gym shirts and shorts for the workout! Not sure if they offer free parking for gym members."
Loaner kit. If you're a business traveller who'd otherwise be packing gym clothes, that's a real perk. Seven years on, I'd confirm it before turning up in a suit with nothing else.
They also raise parking and don't answer it. Nobody does. In Makati's business district that's not a trivial question, and this record can't help you.
Who It's Not For
If you want a hot pool or a dry sauna, a member says the pool was cold and the sauna absent.
If you want a quiet machine floor, the same member says people crowd the machines while the free-weight space sits empty. That's the classic commercial-gym pattern, and it's the one thing on this page I'd bet is still true.
What's Missing
No opening hours in the listing at all. No phone number. No pricing, and Fitness First tiers vary a lot. The club page is at fitnessfirst.com.ph under Platinum RCBC.
