Harpenden Sports Centre

I joined this gym for the first time almost two years ago and it’s been the best thing I’ve ever done!! In my personal experience EA Harpenden is a fantastic gym with a great selection of equipment and facilities.I’ve never felt anything but better after my visits here and I’ve never once been dissatisfied with anything. There is plenty of cardio equipment available which is always good to incorporate into an any workout especially after lifting weights and there’s an area for recovery and stretching after. The staff are all absolutely amazing and I’ve always found the PT’s to be very helpful if I’ve ever needed some advice. The swimming pool is awesome which me and my wife use very frequently in the summer months and the surroundings are just perfect for relaxing outside in the summer time too. Thank you for making me feel so much healthier and fitter!! I absolutely love it!! ❤️

I have been a member at this Leisure Centre for years, and always had a good experience. Really love the spin cycle classes. There are a lot of other great classes available to members too. My eldest is enrolled onto swimming lessons too, and is really liking them. It is very well managed by George. The gym gets busy, but just shows how In demand it is! Great selection of equipment too.

This is a great gym with excellent facilities. It’s well-equipped, very clean, and offers everything you need for a good workout. However, there is one major issue: many members spend way too much time on their phones while sitting on the machines. Some stay on their phones for over 10 minutes without doing a single set, which makes it impossible for others to follow their workout schedule. It would be great if the management could address this lack of consideration for others.🌹✔️

My experience at Harpenden Leisure Centre has been a bit mixed. The staff are always friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which is definitely a positive. However, the gym itself, while generally tidy, isn’t always as clean as you’d expect, which can be a bit off-putting. I also feel the range of memberships is quite limited. I only use the gym, but there’s no gym-only membership option, so you end up paying for facilities you don’t actually use. My daughter also attends swimming lessons here. They’re okay, but I’d describe the quality as average, especially considering the cost. The lessons feel quite expensive for what they are, and it’s disappointing that there’s no concession or discounted pricing available. Overall, some good points with the staff, but there’s definitely room for improvement in terms of cleanliness, value for money, and membership options.

Decent gym but the showers and changing rooms are absolutely disgusting. Especially during weekends. They need to employ a full time cleaner who constantly cleans up during peak times. I leave the showers feeling dirtier than when I entered 🤣. Happy to amend my review if they start doing this.
