Contours Express Bishan is at Bishan Street 22, in the B1 level of block 260. It's a women-only gym, which is the first thing to know, and it holds a 4.3 rating from 16 Google reviews.
Sixteen. That's a small sample, and I'll come back to what it can and can't tell you.
Women Only
Several reviewers describe this directly. A member in April 2018: "Nice all women's gym. Late opening hours. Trainers are professional, helpful, friendly and motivating."
Another, in April 2018: "A very comfortable environment for me, on my fitness journey. Members and trainers are friendly and warm. There is also respect and privacy whilst working out. A good balance of fun and motivation to keep persevering. A place I can go to when I feel chatty and also when I feel shy and reserved."
That last line is the best description of what a women-only gym is actually selling. Not equipment. The option to be left alone.
If you're a man, this record isn't for you. If you want a large kit selection or a heavy barbell floor, note that nobody in this sample describes either.
One Trainer Keeps Coming Up
Two separate members name the same coach, years apart, and both describe something specific.
A member of many years: "I have been experiencing some pain and weakness in my knees for some time and thanks to guidance of Trainer Ann who knows my problem areas, she has planned my exercise regime to target my problem spots."
A member of more than six years, four stars: "I began to see results after some time and become fitter. Until today, I maintain my weight. I enjoy my training with the coach Ann who is very attentive."
Programming around a knee problem, and a six-year member maintaining weight. Those are the two most useful details on this page, and they both point at one person.
That's also the risk. If Ann isn't there when you join, this record tells you rather less than it appears to.
The One-Star
There's a one-star review from April 2019. I've read it several times and I genuinely can't tell you what happened.
The English is broken enough that the specific complaint doesn't come through. It refers to a lack of respect and to an attitude the reviewer encountered. That's the whole review.
I'm not going to guess at the story behind it, and I'm not going to speculate about the reviewer. One unclear complaint out of 16 ratings isn't something I can turn into advice for you.
Convenience Is Part Of The Pitch
A member: "Convenient for me as I live in the same block."
It's in an HDB block basement in Bishan. That's the model. Contours Express sites are small, local, and built around a short walk rather than a destination visit.
What I Can't Tell You
No opening hours appear in the Google listing, which is awkward, because a member specifically praises "late opening hours" as a selling point. So the hours matter and I can't verify them. Check contoursexpress.com.sg.
No phone number either. No pricing.
And on that 4.3: four of the five written reviews date from 2018 and the newest is from April 2019. Two members had been going six years or more at the time. That's a small, loyal membership, and it's also a record with nothing in it from the last seven years.
